Position Expectations:

• Responsible for attending scheduled rehearsals with praise team, soloists, and other instrumentalists as necessary and as directed by the Associate Pastor of Worship to properly prepare for worship services, church programs, and special events.
• As primary accompanist, presence is expected at weekly midweek rehearsal and worship service unless otherwise covered by the Associate Pastor of Worship.
• Maintain punctual attendance at all worship services and rehearsals.
• Perform musical accompaniment as directed by the Associate Pastor of Worship/Praise Team Leader for worship services and special events.
• Maintain appropriate dress attire during all scheduled services, church programs, engagements, etc.
• Notify the Associate Pastor of Worship/Praise Team Leader of any absences well in advance to allow a suitable substitute to be secured.
• Keep Associate Pastor of Worship and/or other designated individual(s) abreast of any maintenance/repairs needed for musical equipment owned by the church.
• Prepare and play special music as needed, including offertory and communion music unless volunteers have been recruited to perform certain selections.
• Foster and encourage strong communication and enthusiasm amongst the musical staff and other ministry laborers, coordinating schedules and efforts to effectively fulfill the music ministry needs of the church.
• Provide piano accompaniment for funeral and memorial services as needed.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

• This person should be a Christian who desires to use their gifts in ministry.
• Reading music is required.
• He or she should exhibit technical proficiency in playing hymns and contemporary Christian music, playing from lead sheets, following direction, and solo performances.
• Must be comfortable working in a team setting.
• Must be supportive of church staff and policy.

Additional Information

• Salary – $12,000 annually paid bi-weekly.
• Allowed (4) Sundays away annually for vacation
