Job Overview

First Baptist Church of New Castle, Pennsylvania is seeking a fulltime church planting resident to minister within the context of the local church while being trained to plant a Baptist church in Grove City, Pennsylvania.

Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

• Has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, been baptized by immersion and bears the fruit of conversion.
• Meets the biblical qualifications for elders (1 Tim 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, 1 Pet 5:1-5).
• Pursues spiritual growth through the means of grace (Scripture, prayer, fellowship).
• Demonstrates competence in organization, administration, and communication.
• Possesses a humble, teachable spirit.
• Endorses and supports the Constitution, By-Laws, and mission of First Baptist Church of New Castle.
• Engages the community evangelistically in ways consistent with his spiritual gifting (i.e. speaking to others about Jesus, praying for the lost, giving financially to mission) while always being ready to give a reason for his hope in Christ (Col 4:2-6, 1 Pet 3:15).
• Contributes financially to the ministry of First Baptist Church (1 Cor 16:2).
• Manages his personal social media accounts as a positive representative of Christ and in alignment with the purpose, vision, mission, strategy, statement of faith, constitution, and by-laws of First Baptist Church.
• Master of Arts or Master of Divinity from an evangelical seminary is required.

• Lives out of the overflow of a Christ-adoring heart.
• Possesses a clear theological understanding of the Scripture, leads from biblical conviction and is motivated by the gospel.
• Demonstrates a robust understanding of ecclesiology and what a healthy church should aspire to look like.
• Seeks to cultivate a strong marriage with his spouse and to manage his household well.
• Develops friendships and seeks to cultivate gospel partnerships.
• Grows in expositional skills, ability to handle God's Word faithfully and Christocentrically, and in leading people to worship and mission in their application of Scripture.
• Desires to do the work of an evangelist with everyday gospel intentionality, living a missional life while engaging the lost.
• Engages culture with savvy in Grove City, Pennsylvania.
• Seeks to develop good work rhythms, rest, and play.
• Takes the long view, doing everything for the glory of Jesus in light of his return and coming kingdom.
