Confession Baptist Full-Time Pastorate: Covenant Reformed Baptist Church (Pending)

Job Description:

The church is looking to hire a full time pastor to serve in administering the ordinary means of grace. This work will include personal commitment to the Lord in prayer and study, preparation for the preaching and conduct of worship, and pastoral counseling, in addition to standard administrative duties.

Position Qualifications:

He must, of course, meet the qualifications of 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. He must hold fully and without reservations to the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith (1677/89). This includes what has been called "classical theism" (ch. 2), Baptist covenant theology (chs. 6-7), the active and passive obedience of Christ as the sole grounds of justification (ch. 11), the regulative principle of worship, and Baptist ecclesiology (ch. 26, including congregationalism, pastoral parity, and associationalism). The preaching to which the people are accustomed is doctrinal in nature, following (in general) the Puritan method of "text, doctrine, uses." A man newly out of seminary will have room to grow.
