Director of Children’s Discipleship and Outreach

Surrounded by cattle ranches and agriculture, Memorial Baptist Church is a very diversified and grace-driven church. God has blessed us tremendously with several young families. In order to deal faithfully with the growth God has given us, we are prayerfully looking for the person God provides to lead us in reaching and teaching our children. Mission Statement

The Children's Ministry Director at Memorial Baptist Church exists to fulfill the Great Commission. This will be accomplished by making disciples of our children, nursery through the 5 th grade, and effectively overseeing and delegating the appropriate avenues of ministry to the adults of MBC. God's Word will be the primary motivator and educational tool.

The Children's Ministry Director will be personally responsible to the Pastor and Memorial Baptist Church.

Qualifications

• Display a vibrant relationship with Christ
• Agree, wholeheartedly, with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000
• Have a proven track record of working, leading and organizing a previous children's ministry
• Desire greatly to see children become disciples of Christ
• Demonstrate a high proficiency in organization and communication
• Capable of effectively communicating to children
• Capable of discerning and equipping the current and future teachers of our kids
• Able to manage the Children's Ministry Budget

Specific Duties

Oversee and lead the Wednesday evening children's ministry

• Recruit and develop the teachers for this ministry with prayerful consideration
• Effectively communicate with the parents and church about this ministry
• Organize special events to promote this ministry
• Choose and administer the appropriate curriculum
• Build a culture of engagement, discipleship, and missions
• Resolve conflicts that may arise with the children and/or their parents

Oversee the children's ministries that take place on Sunday morning

• Coordinate the staffing of the nursery for the Sunday School ministry, the morning worship service and Wednesday evening
• Oversee that the nursery is a safe place for our children (clean, appropriate toys and workers)
• Organize the Children's Church Ministry by developing a rotation of equipped workers and ordering the necessary curriculum

Lead and organize an annual kid's outreach

Develop, initiate and maintain a Sunday School Ministry

• Provide initial and ongoing training for all teachers
• Equip workers with relevant safety training
• Maintain the established screening process (questionnaire, background checks and interviews)
• Maintain the Children's Ministry Tab on MBC's website
• Promote the entire MBC Children's Ministry to our community
• Establish regular office hours (12 office hours a week)
