Job Overview
Apostles Church Brooklyn is seeking a new Part Time Director of Family Ministry and Connection to join our team, in hopes of eventually growing into a Full Time role. ABK has been ministering the gospel in New York City for over ten years, making disciples and reaching skeptics. We have a resilient congregation rooted in the vibrant and diverse neighborhood of Park Slope Brooklyn, and a fruitful relationship with the public school where we meet on Sundays.

Our Director of Family Ministry and Connection furthers this vision by uniting our members in ministering to the next generation and by deepening connections in the life of the church coordinating some of the administrative logistics.
Demonstrated qualities are to be a Scripture-based servant leader who is dedicated to the Great Commission, a strategic thinker, organized, detail-oriented, teachable, humble, honest, and encouraging. Our Director of Family Ministry and Connection must be able to draw near to God's throne through prayer and worship, and to help others do so as well. It is important for them to be able to understand emotional health and how it has shaped their way of relating in the world.
Preferred skills/experience include teaching, recruiting, scheduling and training volunteers, vision casting, familiarity with project management, and event planning. Proven ability to organize teams, to manage details and to strengthen ministry efforts through strategic communication. This role oversees the scheduling of weekly Children's Ministry and Youth volunteers for Sunday service and works well as a self-starter in a collaborative team environment.
REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor
PARTNERS WITH: Lead Pastor, Worship Director, ABK Deacons, Hospitality Team Leader
TIME COMMITMENT: 20 hours/week including Sunday mornings
