Director of Worship Ministries (Full Time or Part Time)

Autumn Ridge Community Church is located in Ellijay, GA and has been gathering for public worship since the beginning of 2019. We're seeking a Director of Worship who oversee public worship at Autumn Ridge Community Church. The Director will report to the Lead Pastor (as a representative of the church's elders), and will supervise all worship-related volunteers (including, but not limited to, musicians, prayer counselors, communion servers, public readers/speakers, etc.)

While the Director of Worship role description is designed to be part-time (15-20 hours/week), we are also open to discussing full-time employment with qualified and capable candidates. A full-time role description would include the worship-related duties described below, as well as 15-20 hours/week of "ministry support" responsibilities.

Job Description

Here are the weekly and seasonal duties assigned to the Director of Worship:

Sunday Mornings (3-4 hours/week)

• Ensure that all A/V equipment, and other sensitive worship supplies, are properly set-up and securely stored each week.
• Participate in leading musical worship and conducting many elements of the Order of Worship, recruiting and utilizing a variety of other volunteers as prudent.

Weekly Responsibilities (6-10 hours/week)

• Participate in ARCC Staff Meetings, as scheduled. (If the candidate is bi-vocational, appropriate accommodations will be made).
• By Thursday of each week, schedule all worship-related volunteers for each Sunday Morning Worship Gathering (musicians, prayer counselors, readers, communion servers, etc.)
• By Friday of each week, format and print the order of worship for each Sunday Morning Worship Gathering.
• Process and post sermon audio to Subsplash each week. Include at least a paragraph descriptor that summarizes the sermon.
• Send the sermon audio link and the setlist for each Sunday worship gathering to our administrative assistant and our social media coordinator (in order for us to communicate within and beyond the church).
• Host/lead a weekly rehearsal for musical worship volunteers.
• Recruit and Develop new Worship Volunteers
  • Contact people who indicate an interest in worship-related volunteerism
  • Ask competent people to consider various roles of service (reading, praying, prayer counselors, communion servers, etc.)
  • Meet with current and potential volunteers for recruiting and training purposes
  • Curate environments for potential musicians to be evaluated and developed.

Seasonal Responsibilities

• Schedule all musical and speaking volunteers for Christmas, and/or other "one off" worship-related events.
• Format and print any necessary worship-related slides, handouts, etc. for special events.
• Coordinate worship-related needs for weddings, funerals, and other special events in coordination with the Lead Pastor/elders.
• Communicate and coordinate with the elders regarding worship equipment purchases/upgrades.
• Participate in the planning processes for community-wide worship events (i.e. Community Night of Worship).
• Other seasonal duties as assigned.
