About the Church and It's Current Music Ministry:
Highland Park First Baptist Church is located on Billtown Road in Louisville KY.
Our Mission statement is "We are a community of faith continually being FORMED by the unchanging word of God, ENGAGING in the worship of God, PURSUING the mission of God by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ."
The church averages between 150. Current staff includes a Full-Time Lead Pastor, a Full-Time Associate Pastor of Students and Administration, a Part-Time Pastor of Adult Discipleship and Missions, a Part-Time Director of Childrens' Ministries, and a Full-Time Administrative Assistant. The church is affiliated with and supports the work of the Southern Baptist Convention, Kentucky Baptist Convention and Louisville Regional Baptist Association.
About the Position to be Filled:
Highland Park First Baptist Church is looking for the man God has called to lead us to God's throne in worship each week. He will be responsible to lead, plan, organize, conduct, and evaluate a comprehensive music/worship ministry including the choir ministry.
He will recruit, train and oversee volunteer participation in praise teams, adult/youth/children choirs, instrumentalists and a media/tech team.
He will lead the church in blended worship of various styles (Col. 3:16) that will include hymns, gospel music and contemporary praise songs which are doctrinally sound and promote strong congregational singing.
The position is a part time position with an expectation of 15 hours per week.
This man will meet the following requirements/preferences:
· Display a genuine love for the Lord and a strong commitment to the local church.
· Have good organizational and relational skills.
· Agree with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
· His education and experience in music/worship leadership to be adequate for the job.
· Have the ability and willingness to train, encourage and develop youth in worship leadership.
· Have a working knowledge of (or willingness to be trained in) the necessary sound and media technology skills, including setup, use and maintenance of a professional audio and video streaming system.
· It is preferred that he be proficient in playing an appropriate instrument while leading in worship.
· Be willing to work under the Lead Pastor's supervision and to work subject to the church's current Constitution and Bylaws as well as the staff handbook. He must meet regularly with and work in coordination with the entire church staff and other relevant ministry leaders and volunteers for effectively carrying out his ministry in accordance with the identity and vision of the church.
