Director of Worship/Music Ministry

Job Overview

Riverstone Church is seeking a part‑time Director of Worship/Music Ministry to lead Christ‑centered worship, coordinate Sunday services, support volunteer teams, and partner with pastoral staff to ensure our worship services reflect the heart and mission of the church.

Qualifications

• A healthy and fruitful walk with Jesus and be a Christlike example in speech and conduct (1 Tim 4:12).
• A personal philosophy of worship and be able to articulate a theology of worship in the corporate gathering.
• A heart for discipleship, commitment to community, being willing to become a church member.
• Experience leading worship with musical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate well with others.
• Willing and able to receive feedback from leadership and congregation with humility and consideration.
• Familiarity with Planning Center Services, Music Stand, ProPresenter, CCLI & SongSelect preferred.

Key Responsibilities

Team Development & Coordination

• Recruit, schedule, and support volunteer musicians, vocalists, and AV team members.

• Provide spiritual guidance to the worship team, encouraging their growth and involvement in the ministry.

• Participate in Wednesday staff meetings and partner with staff to plan all elements of Sunday worship services that align with the church's mission and worship philosophy.

Weekly Rehearsals & Logistics

• Lead weekly rehearsals, ensuring that all team members are well-prepared and equipped.

• Prepare setlists, choosing songs that are in line with our church's criteria for corporate song selection.

• Prepare weekly worship plans including song selection, service elements, and lyric slides.

• Foster a positive, encouraging environment where volunteers can grow.

Sunday Morning Leadership

• Coordinate with AV, pastoral staff, and worship team to ensure smooth service flow in person and online.

• Lead worship personally when scheduled but regularly empower and support other leaders.

• Lead the congregation in genuine worship of God through a gospel shaped worship service that helps shepherd the body by pointing them to the person and work of Jesus.

Special Services & Events

• Plan, coordinate and lead worship for special services and events, such as funerals, holidays, baptisms, and community outreach initiatives.

• Collaborate with other ministry leaders to integrate worship into various church activities and programs such as men's and women's events.
