Mission United Methodist Church is seeking a Disciple Making Minister to focus on Leadership Development and the Next Generation. If one has a heart for helping people of all ages grow in their walk with Jesus Christ, we would love to connect with you.

We're a warm, welcoming congregation that loves worshiping together, serving our community, and growing in grace. We're looking for a leader with a passion for spiritual formation, leadership development, and engaging the next generation in meaningful discipleship and service.

The Disciple Making Minister will help our church live out its mission by guiding people into deeper faith, equipping leaders, and creating a culture of disciples who make disciples.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead a clear pathway for discipleship and spiritual growth for all ages.
  • Build and strengthen the leadership and next generation ministries, fostering spiritual growth through mentoring, small groups, and service opportunities.
  • Equip and coach lay leaders to guide small groups and disciple others.
  • Foster a culture of prayer, accountability, and servant leadership throughout the church.
  • Preach or teach regularly and assist in pastoral care as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Church Council Team to align all ministries with our disciple-making mission.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in English, bilingual (e.g. Mandarin)
  • A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with United Methodist theology and values.
  • Passion for relational disciple-making and engaging youth and young adults.
  • Experience in discipleship, youth ministry, or pastoral leadership.
  • Bachelor's or Master of Divinity seminary degree preferred
  • Strong relational, teaching, and organizational skills.

  • Status: Full-Time, Housing and Vehicle Allowance
  • Compensation: Based on experience and education
  • Reports To: Church Council and Pastor Parish Team
