Elementary P.E. Instructor

Job Overview

Under the direction of the Elementary Principal, the Elementary Physical Education Instructor will be responsible for instruction of students. May be expected to grade homework or tests/assessments and/or to record student performance. Must manage student behavior to maintain a safe and engaging, positive classroom learning environment. Will treat all students with love and respect. Will strive to develop students to be faithful disciples of Christ.

Job Description

• Deliver biblically-integrated instruction and engage students in active learning in accordance with classroom teacher plans.
• Help students to grow and become faithful disciples of Christ, recognizing their God-given talents and using them to serve Him.
• Instruct and monitor students in and beyond the classroom.
• Teach students to use learning materials and equipment appropriately.
• Integrate curriculum with the Bible.
• Use technology to teach and accomplish other objectives.
• Observe and evaluate student's performance and development.
• Motivate and manage student behavior by establishing, teaching and enforcing rules and expectations. Address misconduct with Bible-based coaching and restorative corrective action..
• Maintain discipline campus-wide using a restorative discipline approach focusing on learning and relying on school rules and the Bible as the final standard for all behavior..
• Provide appropriate feedback on work, if so directed.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students, using assessment data to inform teaching strategies, if so directed.
• Teach students with disabilities. Consult the Director of Student Support Services as needed.
• Maintain records, as directed. Records must be accurate and follow rules and state requirements.
• Communicate necessary information in a positive manner to others.
• Prepare the classroom for class activities for daily use.
• Maintain a calendar of booked assignments and complete required tracking forms.
• Other duties as assigned.
