ABOUT THE MINISTRY
New Life English Ministry (NLEM) is a Christ-centered ministry of Arizona New Life Presbyterian Church, a Korean-immigrant church in Phoenix. Serving approximately 20–30 members—from college students to young families—we seek to build a covenantal community that welcomes people, grows in faith, and faithfully proclaims the Gospel.
We are seeking a pastor who will help NLEM grow both spiritually and numerically through biblical preaching, discipleship, worship, community, evangelism, and leadership development.

Provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and a clear vision for a healthy, growing, Christ-centered English Ministry. The ideal candidate has a heart for people and a desire to build a ministry across cultures and generations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preach and teach God's Word faithfully and clearly.
- Provide pastoral care, counseling, discipleship, and spiritual leadership.
- Develop a vision for ministry growth and spiritual health.
- Build a culture of prayer, fellowship, evangelism, and service.
- Train, equip, and mentor lay leaders and volunteers.
- Develop ministries, small groups, and discipleship opportunities.
- Reach people outside the church and welcome them into community.
- Collaborate with church leadership across cultures and generations.
Job Description
VISION FOR GROWTH
Over the next 3–5 years, we hope to see growth in: spiritual maturity, discipleship, evangelism, community, leadership, generational engagement, and healthy numerical growth. We recognize that numerical growth belongs to God; our calling is to preach the Gospel, make disciples, love people, and faithfully cultivate the ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear pastoral calling.
- Agreement with NLEM's theological convictions and commitment to Scripture.
- Ability to preach and teach the Bible faithfully.
- Strong communication, relational, and pastoral-care skills.
- Heart for discipleship, evangelism, and people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to collaborate with church leadership and volunteers.
Preferred
- Seminary education (M.Div. or equivalent).
- Pastoral or ministry leadership experience.
- Experience in English, multicultural, or second-generation ministry.
- Experience leading small groups, discipleship, and leadership development.
Full-Time vs Part-Time
- If full-time, ability to work with the Korean Ministry (KM) leadership to help with some KM activities may be required.
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
Part-time or full-time arrangements will be considered. Compensation, benefits, schedule, and responsibilities will be discussed based on experience, qualifications, and ministry needs.
