About the Ministry
Two Journeys Ministry is the online Bible teaching ministry of Pastor Andy Davis. Andy is the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Durham, NC. Two Journeys is an integrated auxiliary 501(c)(3) missions society of First Baptist Church of Durham. Two Journeys is under the authority of FBC Durham but operates with its own board of directors, staff, and annual budget.
Role
Two Journeys is seeking a new full-time Executive Director to help manage the ministry's daily operations and continue fulfilling its mission of glorifying God by helping Christians worldwide grow in spiritual maturity through Andy’s faithful Bible teaching. The Executive Director is expected to work from the office at FBC Durham at least three days a week.
Responsibilities
· Develop plans to grow the ministry, obtain approval from the Board of Directors, implement those plans, and delegate responsibilities to employees, contractors, and volunteers.
· Travel with Andy Davis and other staff members to conferences to promote the ministry.
- Create and implement an annual budget.
- Create and oversee a comprehensive fundraising strategy. Personally meet with major donors. Plan and MC the annual fundraising dinner.
- Hire, manage, and, when necessary, dismiss employees and third-party contractors. The ministry currently employs a full-time content manager, a part-time AV manager, a part-time editor, and a part-time graphic designer.
- Recruit and retain qualified volunteers.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive omnichannel marketing strategy.
- Work with the accountant to ensure the ministry’s financial records remain accurate and in order.
- Hold weekly check-in meetings with Andy Davis regarding ministry operations and priorities.
- Hold monthly meetings with the Board Chairman regarding ministry operations.
- Generate quarterly financial and traffic reports for the Board of Directors.
- Organize two Board of Directors meetings each year.
- Work with our website company to constantly improve the website.
- Work with our app company to constantly improve the app.
- Take the initiative to reach out to conferences, book publishers, and like-minded content websites to form mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Occasionally, fill in for the content manager and AV manager to post content or record Andy’s teaching and preaching.
- Ensure that everything the ministry produces aligns with the ministry's brand and mission. The Executive Director is responsible for preventing brand or mission drift.
- Meet with FBC Durham Elders once a year to update them on the ministry. Also, give an update at an FBC Durham members’ meeting once a year.
Technical Skills Needed
· Understands Google Analytics 4 and similar websites and programs to analyze traffic to the website.
· Understands how to use ChatGPT and Claude or other artificial intelligence models.
· Understands digital marketing as pertains to search engines, social media, email, and related platforms.
· Understands print marketing as pertains to mailers, flyers, conference advertising, and related materials.
· Understands how to use QuickBooks Online for employee and contractor payroll, and to read reports such as statements of financial position, statements of activity, and more.
· Understands how to use Salesforce to manage all donor giving and information.
· Understands how to use online giving platforms. The ministry currently uses Tithe.ly, FundraiseUp, and PayPal.
· Understands how to use a camera and audio equipment.
· Understands all that a non-profit must do in order to retain its status with the IRS.
· Understands at least the basics of website and app development.
· Thoroughly knows Scripture and understands theology.
· Is familiar with the major evangelical conferences, book publishers, and other content websites.

· Spiritually Mature ManThis is a parachurch ministry leadership position; therefore, the ideal candidate is a man who loves God and is striving to grow in godliness as outlined in the pastor/elder qualifications listed in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
· Loves the Local ChurchTwo Journeys is an integrated auxiliary 501(c)(3) with First Baptist Church of Durham and exists to reach people around the world with Andy’s Bible teaching. Therefore, the candidate must love the local church because the ministry is an extension of a local church.
· Membership at FBC DurhamThe Executive Director must become a member of FBC Durham within 12 months after being hired.
· Theologically KnowledgeableThe Executive Director should know Scripture well and affirm Reformed theology.
· Highly Values Andy Davis’s TeachingThe Executive Director should be someone who is familiar with and has personally benefited from Andy’s Bible teaching and desires to see others around the world impacted by it as well.
· LeadershipThe Executive Director must be a leader who can mobilize people, financial resources, and technology to accomplish strategic goals.
· PrayerfulThe Executive Director should regularly seek the Lord in prayer for wisdom and guidance in leading the ministry.
· OrganizedThis role requires someone who can maintain organized and detailed records of financial documents, board meeting minutes, and other materials necessary to uphold nonprofit compliance.
· Self-StarterThe role requires someone who is driven, ambitious, and proactive in moving the ministry forward and expanding its reach through Andy’s Bible teaching.
· ConsistentMuch of the ministry’s growth is the result of a staff that faithfully and consistently works week after week, month after month, and year after year to capture, package, publish, and promote Andy’s Bible teaching.
· Tech-SavvyTwo Journeys is a technology-focused ministry that requires someone who is comfortable understanding and working with website and app development, cameras, audio equipment, podcasts, social media, and related technologies.
· Vision CastingThe Executive Director is responsible for developing new strategies and goals for ministry growth and communicating that vision to the Board of Directors, FBC Elders, and Two Journeys staff.
· CommunicativeThe Executive Director regularly collaborates and communicates with the Board of Directors, Andy Davis, Two Journeys staff, and FBC staff.
· Public SpeakingThe Executive Director speaks to the gathered FBC Durham congregation three times each year to provide updates on the ministry. The Executive Director is also the MC for fundraising dinners and occasional events held at conferences.
