Our Story – Redemption Hill Church We are a growing, multiplying church located in Medford, MA (four miles north of downtown Boston). With nearly 40 nations represented in our church and two churches planted in the last four years, our passion is to help people follow Jesus in all of life and see God's kingdom come "in Boston as in heaven." We pursue this as a worshiping community that connects on Sundays and in Groups. Guided by the Word and empowered by the Spirit, we equip people to serve God's mission and seek revival from New England to the Nations.
Vision for Role The Executive Pastor is the primary integrator and driver of the church's vision to multiply disciples, leaders and churches. Working hand-in-hand with the Lead Pastor, our Executive Pastor will ensure accountable action across all ministries. This is a high-capacity, high-accountability leadership role for someone who catalyzes excellent execution with urgency, develops leaders with intentionality, and oversees operations with precision to help people follow Jesus in all of life.

As a part of the Elder Leadership Team, this Pastor will shepherd the flock through knowing, teaching, leading, protecting, and praying for the RHC church family because people trump projects and processes. Sharing the full rights and responsibilities as the entire Elder Leadership Team, this Pastor will serve in prayerful dependence on the Holy Spirit to glorify God in all things.
Job Description
Specific Responsibilities
- Discipleship Movement & Leadership Development
- Drive clear, simple, and effective next steps across our discipleship pathway — from first-time guests to fully engaged disciples with an emphasis on Groups, Teams, and Leadership Development through intentional strategies and dynamic metrics.
- Create and own systems for leadership recruitment, training, and development across all ministry areas for a leadership pipeline that multiplies leaders.
- Collaborate with Lead Pastor in leading Staff and key ministry leaders to ensure Staff culture and ministry Teams are thriving through healthy communication, management systems, and evaluation.
- Vision Implementation & Strategic Execution
- Help fuel the culture of prayer in RHC to increase intimacy with God & the power of God among us through leadership and participation in agreed upon prayer gatherings.
- Serve alongside the Lead Pastor in implementing RHC's God-given vision and mission by turning big-picture strategy into clear objectives, streamlined systems, and priority action steps executed across all ministries.
- Build alignment between Staff & Ministry Teams to ensure unified movement and momentum.
- Execute top level strategic priorities as agreed upon by the Elders (e.g., space acquisition, new initiatives, and major projects).
- Church Operations Oversight & Execution
- Oversee and optimize church operations and administration, including areas of human resources, facilities, tech, and systems that drive efficiency, eliminate bottlenecks, & free leaders to focus on serving people.
- Oversee Admin Associate who executes people movement and the management of church calendar, admin software, as well as general communication and operational needs.
- Oversee Finance Team and Vendors to ensure the execution and healthy growth of our: 1) Financial Systems, including the Financial Ministry Planning process and integration; 2) Financial Operations (RHC-based & vendor-based) and contract management; and 3) Financial Health, including discipleship growth in the "Generosity Journey," transparency, accountability, reporting, and sustainability.
- Pastoral Ministry, Personal Growth, & Kingdom Investment
- Provide pastoral care for members through intercessory prayer, shepherding contacts, intentional encouragement, and other pastoral duties (counseling, weddings, funerals, etc).
- Preach & Assist in Leading Sunday Worship and other gatherings, as assigned.
- Prioritize pursuing God, spend time in scheduled spiritual retreats, and meet other missional leaders for encouragement and growth.
- Attend conferences, engage in intentional study, and receive coaching from ministry mentors
- Invest in like-minded kingdom efforts outside of the life of RHC, with approval of the Elders.
Commitment The Executive Pastor will serve indefinitely with a vision & preference for long-term investment and the benefits of ministry longevity.
Time Investment On average, this Pastor will invest 45 hours each week including Sunday worship (with seasonal adjustments based on the church calendar).
Compensation This position is eligible for a full-time salary with associated benefits per initial Offer Letter, RHC Personnel Policy & Procedures, and annual compensation review. It is considered best practice to record total compensation with an annual "Compensation Summary" as the Financial Ministry Plan progresses each year. Current expectations include, but are not limited to: Health, Dental, & Life Insurance reimbursement, retirement contributions, at least 3 weeks paid vacation, paid holidays per policy, and professional expenses as determined by our annual Financial Ministry Plan process. Relocation expenses to be discussed. No other benefits implied.
