Family Discipleship Pastor

Family Discipleship Pastor is a highly relational "builder" who bridges the gap between Sunday mornings and Tuesday nights at the kitchen table. This role moves beyond "running programs" to equipping parents as the primary spiritual leaders of their homes.

Role Overview

The Family Discipleship Pastor is a full-time position that provides visionary leadership and oversight for all "Next Gen" ministries (birth through 12th grade). In this sized congregation, the pastor acts as the primary leader for youth while recruiting and coaching a volunteer team to manage children's ministry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Discipleship: Develop a unified "birth-to-graduation" discipleship pathway, ensuring curriculum and milestones (e.g., first Bible, baptism, graduation) are cohesive across age groups.Youth Ministry (Teens): Serve as the direct leader for middle and high school gatherings, focusing on biblical teaching, relational mentoring, and annual events like camps, retreats or mission trips.Children's Ministry Oversight: Supervise the Children's Lead Volunteers to ensure a safe, fun, and gospel-centered environment for kids.Parent Equipping: Provide resources, seminars, and counseling to help parents disciple their children throughout the week.Volunteer Leadership: Recruit, vet (using Ministry Safe or similar child protection policy material), and train volunteers to staff classrooms and lead small groups.General Pastoral Care: Assist the Pastor with weddings, funerals, hospital visits, and occasional Sunday morning preaching.Qualifications & Skills

Spiritual Maturity: Must meet the biblical requirements for an elder (1 Timothy 3; Titus 1) and demonstrate a vibrant personal walk with Christ.Theological Alignment: Must become a member of the Church, commit to the study and the practice of the teachings of the Bible, and doctrinally hold to the Baptist Faith and Message. Education: A Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies, Youth Ministry, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred but not required.Relational Ability: High energy and the ability to connect with diverse groups—from toddlers to teenagers to parents.Administrative Skill: Proficient in using church management tools like Planning Center and social media for parent communication.Reporting & Structure

Reports To: Senior PastorSupervises: Youth & Children's Ministry volunteers/directors

Full Time Salary: $50,000-56,000
