Job Overview
The Family Life Pastor serves as a spiritual leader within the church by providing leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care to families, students, and children. This individual will lead the Student Ministry at River Springs while providing oversight, encouragement, and support for the children's ministry. The Family Life Pastor will work alongside the Senior Pastor, church staff, and volunteers to strengthen families and help all generations grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
This is a bivocational, part-time pastoral position requiring flexibility, spiritual maturity, and a servant-hearted commitment to the local church. Currently 16-24 hours per week, with potential for growth into a full-time position.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Student Ministry Leadership
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the church's student ministry (middle school and high school).
- Plan and lead weekly student gatherings, Bible studies, discipleship opportunities, and special events.
- Build meaningful relationships with students and their families.
- Disciple students toward spiritual maturity and encourage involvement in worship, missions, and church life.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers serving in student ministry.
- Coordinate camps, retreats, mission opportunities, and outreach events.
Children's Ministry Oversight
- Provide leadership, encouragement, and oversight for the church's children's ministry.
- Work alongside children's ministry volunteers and leaders to ensure sound biblical teaching and safe ministry practices.
- Assist in recruiting, equipping, and supporting children's ministry workers.
- Help coordinate children's ministry programming, events, and outreach efforts.
- Ensure all child safety and security policies are followed.
Family Ministry Support
- Support the Senior Pastor in developing and implementing a Christ-centered vision for family discipleship within the church.
- Encourage and equip parents to serve as the primary spiritual leaders in their homes.
- Foster unity and cooperation between children's ministry, student ministry, and the broader church body.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in planning and coordinating ministry opportunities that strengthen families and encourage spiritual growth.
Pastoral Ministry Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral care and encouragement to church families.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in fulfilling the overall mission and ministry of the church.
- Participate in worship services, church events, visitation, outreach, and other pastoral duties as assigned.
- Preach or teach during worship services as requested.
- Conduct counseling and discipleship related to marriage, parenting, and spiritual growth as needed.
Qualifications
- A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of a growing relationship with Him.
- A calling to pastoral ministry and a passion for discipling families and students.
- Agreement with the church's statement of faith and the doctrines of the Southern Baptist Convention.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers, parents, students, and church leadership.
- Previous ministry experience preferred.
- Formal theological training is beneficial but not required.

Work Schedule & Compensation
This is a bivocational, part-time position requiring flexibility in scheduling, including Sundays, Wednesday evenings, and ministry events.
Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and church budget.
