Family Pastor

Principle Function:

Responsible to the Senior Pastor for the development and execution of a comprehensive program for young families. This ministry includes children, youth, college aged, and their parents. Consult with other staff and volunteers concerning activities in this area.

Ministry Requirements and Responsibilities:

1. Develop a vision for reaching and retaining young families.
2. Counsel with church leaders in planning, conducting, and evaluating a young family ministry.
3. Enlist volunteers.
4. Advise in the use of program materials, equipment, supplies, and space required to carry out ministry.
5. Assist with the planning and conducting of special projects, such as camps, retreats, fellowships and visitation.
6. Coordinate outreach. Lead staff and volunteers to contact, visit, and minister to prospects and absentees.
7. Propose a budget for the development and improvement of this ministry. Appropriately administer budgeted funds when approved and available.
8. Teach during weekly services and preach on the occasions given by the Senior Pastor.
9. Provide regular ministry updates in deacon meetings and church conference.
10. Serve as a member of the Church Council.
11. Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications:

1. He must meet the qualifications for a pastor listed in First Epistle to Timothy 3:1–7 and Epistle to Titus 1:5–9.

2. He must affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, as well as the Carnes Creek Baptist Church Statement of Faith and By-laws.

3. He must demonstrate an unwavering commitment to King Jesus and the advancement of His Kingdom.

4. He must demonstrate a clear calling to pastoral ministry, specifically in family ministry.

5. He must demonstrate spiritual maturity, humility, and the ability to shepherd families relationally and biblically.

6. He must have earned a minimum of a bachelor's degree. A ministry degree is not required but is preferred.

7. He must be willing to become a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church and serve as a committed team player.

8. He must be willing to submit to a background check.
