Family and Student Pastor
New Prospect Baptist Church in Inman, SC is seeking a Family & Student Pastor to join our ministry team. We are looking for a leader dedicated to building a cohesive, multi-generational community where every age group—from Kids and Youth to Young Adults and Seniors—is intentionally connected and growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.
The Role:
The Family & Student Pastor will oversee, track, and evaluate the progress of our next-generation ministries. This role involves casting a clear path for spiritual maturity, recruiting and shepherding leaders, and actively participating in the lives of our families, children, and students.
Key Responsibilities:
Family Ministry Oversight:Structure & Foundation: Establish a solid foundation for Family Ministries at NPBC, ensuring all age-graded areas are aligned and partnering together.Volunteer Cultivation: Build a strong volunteer base through personal invitation, emphasizing a model where older generations serve and mentor the younger.Evangelism: Proactively reach out to families in our community, creating welcoming opportunities for them to join our church family and encounter the life-changing power of the Gospel.Environment & Resources: Ensure families, kids, and youth have excellent experiences by maintaining high-quality resources, equipment, and welcoming spaces.Student Ministry Leadership:Biblical Teaching: Teach Scripture in ways that are biblically sound, engaging, and applicable.Develop Community: Cultivate an atmosphere that ensures every student feels engaged and invited to participate.Worship & Small Groups: Lead participatory worship times and facilitate essential small groups where students can learn, share, and find community.Parental Partnership: Maintain consistent communication with parents regarding their student's spiritual development.Fellowship: Leading retreats, camps, and seasonal ministry events to build strong relationships and community.Qualifications:o A deep, growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
o A passion for discipling the next generation.
o Strong relational and communication skills, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and volunteer leaders.
o A bachelor's or master's degree in a related field (Divinity, Theology, Christian Education, etc.) is preferred.
o Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, evaluate, and adjust ministry strategies.
o The ability to work collaboratively within a church staff team.
o A humble, teachable spirit and commitment to Christian unity.
o Full alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, the NPBC Statement of Faith, and the Church Covenant.
