Re: Request for Resumes for Full-time Pastor Position

FBC Garrison, a Southern Baptist Church aligned with SBTC, is currently receiving resumes for the position of Pastor (full-time). Garrison is a rural community in East Texas. The school district includes an elementary school, middle school, and a 2-A high school. Stephen F. Austin State University is located only 24 miles away in nearby Nacogdoches.

The current worship attendance is 80-100 on Sunday morning. The music style is slightly blended.

The new Pastor will lead the church to discover its purpose, and guide the ministry staff, deacons, church council, committees and congregation to fulfill that purpose. Other responsibilities include duties typical of a pastor, such as preaching Sunday morning and evenings services, leading Wednesday evening Bible study, visiting people in the hospital and nursing home, performing weddings and funerals, as well as leading the church and its leaders in outreach and evangelistic efforts.

Applicants must meet the Biblical qualifications of 1 Timothy 3:1-7.

Applicants must adhere to, abide by and lead the congregation to follow the Church Covenant according to FBC Garrison's Constitution and Bylaws as well as the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Financial and background checks are required, as well as confirmation applicants are legal citizens of the United States.

A 3BR parsonage is available.
