Role Summary

Mercy Church exists to make disciples who love God, love each other, and love our world. The Groups & Equip Resident (GER) assists the Groups & Equip Director in executing the vision and strategies of Mercy's Discipleship Ministries to help attendees and members become more like Jesus through teaching, training, and biblical community. This position will help grow and maintain the health of Community Groups and assist with studies, classes, and other equipping opportunities at Mercy.

Residency Responsibilities

• Residency Cohort

1. 1. 1. Attending all required residency cohorts (bi-weekly, except during the summer).
      2. Completing all required assignments, readings, and writing assignments.
      3. Working alongside other residents to complete final projects once a semester.

• Support-Raising

1. 1. 1. Maintaining a healthy support raising status
         1. 75% is required to do part-time work with their ministry team.
         2. 90% is required to do full-time work with their ministry team.
      2. Maintaining the relationship with their support team through monthly support updates.

• Development and Discernment

1. 1. Constantly learning and helping lead alongside their direct supervisor in their designated ministry.
   2. Committing to being developed, evaluated, and receiving regular feedback.
   3. Create and regularly update a personal growth plan.

Ministry Track Responsibilities

• The Groups & Equip Resident will assist the GED in strategy, execution, growth, and care of Community Groups and Equip Ministries by learning and helping to:

1. 1. Add/onboard new Community Group Leaders.
   2. Assimilate people into Community Groups.
   3. Manage groups and events in CCB.
   4. Manage projects in Asana.
   5. Recruit, coach, and develop ministry leaders.
   6. Design, execute, and evaluate various trainings and events across the Groups and Equip ministries.
   7. Work with various ministries and departments to ensure holistic discipleship at Mercy Church.
   8. Implement church-wide discipleship initiatives and content.

General Expectations

1. A Mercy Church Resident should be teachable and always exhibit professionalism, conscientious work ethic, and accountability. 

2. A Mercy Church Resident needs to be willing and able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, with composure and flexibility. 


Office Hours and Work Schedule

1. The hours for this position are expected to be approximately 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in several locations, there are several times throughout the year that Mercy Church holds church-wide events in order to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events, regardless of the positions they hold.
   1. Such events include, but are not limited to Easter services, Good Friday services, All-Church-Gathering, and Christmas services. Specific expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
