High School Director: Christ Covenant
Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The High School Director provides leadership and oversight for Christ Covenant's ministry to high school students, with the goal of helping students know, love, and follow Jesus Christ. Working as part of the Student Ministry team, the High School Director develops a Gospel-centered ministry of Biblical teaching, discipleship, community, service, fellowship, and missions while building meaningful relationships with students, parents, and adult leaders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, communicate, and execute a comprehensive ministry strategy for high school students consistent with the mission and vision of Christ Covenant. Develop relationships with High School students.
- Work alongside the High School Girl's Director.
- Work with the Director of Student Ministries in fulfilling the mission, vision, and purpose of the Christ Covenant Youth Ministry.
- Provide opportunities for High school youth to be involved in ministry and missions.
- Create programs that challenge students to grow in their faith and build community.
- Develop curriculum for Sunday School, Discipleship Groups, and individual mentoring.
- Recruit, train, equip, encourage, and provide ongoing leadership to adult volunteers and student leaders. Plan and lead both foreign and domestic mission trips.
- Teach Sunday School, small groups, and individual students.
- Pray for students on a regular basis.
- Be involved in partnership with local high school ministries such as Anchor Learning Center at Farragut High School.
- Build relationships with parents, equipping and communicating with them as the primary disciplers of their children.
- Encourage and create opportunities for students to meaningfully participate in the worship, service, fellowship, and mission of the broader church.
Position Qualifications:
Required
- Mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
- Agreement with and ability to serve within Christ Covenant's Reformed and Presbyterian theological convictions
- Demonstrated ability to teach Scripture faithfully
- Demonstrated ability to disciple teenagers
- Strong relational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to recruit, equip, and lead volunteers
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a ministry team
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent ministry experience
- Willingness to become a member of Christ Covenant
Preferred
- 3+ years of student ministry experience
- Experience leading a student ministry of comparable size (50+ students)
- Formal biblical/theological education
- Experience planning retreats and domestic/international mission trips
