Summary of PositionThe Kids Director leads Gateway Church's WayKids by developing leaders and partnering with parents to help engage children with the truth of the gospel. This is accomplished by maintaining alignment with the church's mission, building and overseeing the leadership pipeline, ensuring children are engaged with the gospel each weekend, resourcing parents, and investing in the WayKids team.
This role requires growing spiritual maturity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to lead a team to accomplish ministry goals that advance the vision of Gateway Church.

Duties and Responsibilities1. Maintain Vision Alignment for Kids Ministry (25%)
- Ensure Ministry Tactics Align with the Organizational Strategy and Vision of the Church

- Meet regularly with the Lead Pastor
- Develop and implement curriculum for WayKids ministry
- Regularly review Kids Ministry tactics based on the broader vision of Gateway Church
- Empower staff and/or residents to steward their time well around the ministry tactics
- Develop and update ministry tactics to continually improve the ministry=

Set and Track Goals for Growth and Productivity
- 90-day objectives
- Regular ministry metrics

Communicate the Strategy and Tactics
- Connecting the ground level tactics to the vision of the church communication to volunteers, parents, and residents
- Determining and executing communication plans to parents and team members
2. Leadership Development (25%)

Pursue Personal Leadership Development
- Complete assigned trainings for growth in areas of ministry and in your personal walk with the Lord
- Meet regularly with supervisor to discuss personal discipleship and leadership development
- Pursue growth in understanding of kids ministry theology and philosophies through reading articles/books or listening to podcasts

Develop and Oversee Implementation of a Leadership Pipeline
- Work with Gateway staff, residents, and WayKids volunteers to assess areas of need, look towards the future, and recruit volunteers through the pipeline
- Ensure On-Ramp is effective in on-boarding volunteers into the ministry successfully
- Communicate vision for leadership development on a regular basis
- Develop and implement ongoing and event-based trainings for team members
3. Gospel Engagement (25%)

Make Excellence a Priority at Weekend Services
- Monitor for and maintain consistency of Gateway DNA and culture across all services
- Review areas of improvement and make adjustments as necessary
- Fill roles if a team member is out
- Build relationships and get regular feedback from kids, parents, and team members
- Work with Security Coordinators and staff to ensure safety standards are met at each service
- Cultivate an environment where every detail communicates safety, care, and hospitality to kids and parents

Oversee Curriculum Development and Implementation
- Oversee unit planning meetings
- Ensure team members understand each week's curriculum prior to weekend services
- Ensure curriculum and supplies are distributed to your team in a timely manner
- Monitor implementation for areas of improvement
- Continue to improve and develop the kids worship experience

Plan Kids and Family Events
- Create gameplan for future events, including a one-page description of how the event furthers the mission of the church
- Ensure event itinerary and curriculum meet the values and culture of Gateway Church
- Assist team members in implementation of events and offer areas of improvement for the future events

Oversee Counseling of kids and families, including
- Salvation counseling
- Baptism counseling
- Situational counseling
4. Parent Equipping (15%)

Resource Development
- Research helpful childhood development and discipleship resources
- Build and maintain a Family Resource Center within Church Center for parents and families
- Develop future tools and resources that equip parents to disciple their children at home

Partnership Building
- Build meaningful relationships with parents to support and encourage them in the spiritual formation of their children
- Be available on Sundays to connect with parents, celebrate milestones, and offer guidance when needed
- Create a rhythm of educating parents about recommended resources
- Cast vision for parents for the partnership between church and home
- Create feedback opportunities to hear how to best partner with parents
5. Miscellaneous Responsibilities

- Be willing to provide a helping hand with miscellaneous duties during the gathering: including first steps, baptisms, communion, etc.
- Be present at weekly staff prayer.
- Participate in all staff retreats and events.
Physical Requirements: Essential job function: Duties [1] through [4] are designated as ADA essential functions and must be performed in this job. All other job duties are secondary functions.
- Ability to continuously stand, sit, and/or walk.
- Ability to bend, climb stairs, and/or lift occasionally.
- Ability to lift 5 to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to squat occasionally.
- Ability to communicate continuously with other people.
- Ability to operate computers continuously in order to complete necessary office work.
- Ability to frequently comprehend physical and/or digital documents and frequently prepare physical and/or digital documents.
Work Environment
- May occasionally work in temperatures above 95 degrees and below 32 degrees.
- May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Noise level in the environment is frequently loud.
- May occasionally work outdoors.
- May continuously work indoors within closed office spaces.
Office Hours and Work Schedule Office Hours: Weekend Services. Weekdays in the office will be determined at a later date. Holidays: All staff-wide holidays as outlined in the Staff HandbookTime Off: Refer to Staff Handbook
