Kids Minister
Direct Supervisor: Associate Pastor
Team Members: Kids Ministry staff, Student Ministry staff, and Family Ministry team.
Scope: Oversee all programs and personnel for ISBC Kids ministry in order to fulfill the mission of the church.
Job Duties
• Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of teaching and mentoring that is rooted in scripture and fulfills the purposes in 2 Timothy 3:16.
• Develop overall vision and strategy for the children's ministry in alignment with the church's vision in order to see children and their parents come to know Christ and grow as disciples of Christ.
• Provide coaching, evaluation and mentoring to children's ministry staff and volunteers to ensure consistent, biblically sound, and Spirit-led instruction to the ministry. Empower lay-leaders to use their gifts within our church.
• Lead children in learning to experience God in worship by providing age appropriate opportunities for worship and learning. This includes helping adult leaders to plan and implement Sunday morning worship experiences.
• Recruit, train, equip, and lead volunteers to minister to children and their parents. This will include but is not limited to LifeGroups on Sunday morning Midweek activities on Wednesday nights; and other activities throughout the year.
• Mentor and disciple volunteer leaders so that they are growing in their relationship with the Lord and have a balanced Christian walk as evidenced by their participation in adult worship and discipleship opportunities.
• Work with the Senior Pastor and other ministerial staff to develop a coordinated and comprehensive strategy for saturating our community with the gospel. This will include events and activities both on and off campus throughout the year.
• Develop and submit a yearly budget and monitor expenses so that the ministry stays within the budget guidelines approved by the church.
• Create accountability and goals for desired ministry outcomes. Ensure adequate and timely planning for ministry.
• Perform other pastoral duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Engaging teacher, with a strong biblical background, who agrees with Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and ISBC core values.
• Sincere and mature disciple of Jesus Christ as evidenced by a deeply committed life of prayer, biblical study and meditation, confession, empowering of the Holy Spirit, and dependency on God.
• Possessing the spiritual gifts of pastor (Eph. 4: 11), teaching (1 Cor. 12:28, Rome 12:7, Eph 4:11), leading (Rome 12:8), and encouragement/exhortation (Rome 12:8).
• Character, leadership style, and lifestyle as depicted in scripture (1 Timothy 3:2-4; Titus 1:7-9; Matthew 9:36; Acts 20: 17-20; Philippians 2:5-8).
