MINISTRY DESCRIPTION: Lakewood Baptist Church is searching for a Kids Minister to serve on our NextGen Staff Team and oversee our ministry to Grade School Kids (Kindergarten – 5th Grade). Our Lakewood Kids mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ by helping kids love God, love people and learn His Word. This person will work under the direction of our NextGen Pastor and give leadership to our Grade School Staff Team (including several associate staff and volunteer leaders), oversee our weekly Kids Ministry environments (Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights), and plan strategic events throughout the year (including Kids Camp and VBS). Lakewood has a well-established kids ministry with over 250 grade school kids involved on a regular basis. We are looking for someone with a passion for the Lord who is able to relate well with kids but also has the maturity to lead staff, invest in parents and train adult volunteers. Some responsibilities include: recruiting and training volunteers, leading staff and staff meetings, planning and leading big events, teaching kids and sharing the gospel, and ministering to kids and their families. This is not an entry level position. The Kids Minister role is designed for someone who has already had some good experience in Kids Ministry and is ready to lead at the next level through supervising staff while also ministering to kids and families. We are open to this position being a pastoral role for someone who meets the biblical qualifications of a pastor according to I Timothy 3:1-7.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

We are especially open to someone who has a master's degree from seminary (or willing to work toward this).• Someone with at least 3 years of kids ministry experience.• Someone who is willing to lead and be led (humble, teachable).• Someone who is a team-player and team-builder.
