Bethel Bible Fellowship Church is a community of believers who love God's Word, value biblical preaching, and desire to grow as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. We are thankful for God's faithfulness throughout our history and excited about the opportunities He has placed before us.
We are located in Emmaus, a historic borough in Lehigh County located in the heart of the Lehigh Valley, approximately 50 miles north of Philadelphia. Originally founded as a Moravian settlement in 1759, it has grown into one of the region's most desirable residential communities while maintaining a strong small-town identity.
Our Mission We exist to be a Spirit-led, God-glorifying community of maturing disciples, going with Jesus in His ministry of reconciliation to the world.
Everything we do at Bethel Bible Fellowship Church flows from this mission. Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Preaching and Teaching
- Serve as the primary preacher and teacher of God's Word through expository preaching.
- Provide biblical leadership in corporate worship services.
- Ensure that all teaching ministries remain biblically sound and gospel centered.
- Lead the congregation in understanding and applying Scripture to everyday life.
Shepherding and Pastoral Care
- Shepherd the congregation through prayer, encouragement, counseling, visitation, and discipleship.
- Care for the spiritual health and unity of the church family.
- Administer the ordinances of believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper.
- Officiate weddings, funerals, child dedications, and other pastoral ministries.
Leadership and Vision
- Provide spiritual leadership that aligns with the mission, vision, and values of Bethel Church.
- Lead the church in seeking God's direction through prayer and dependence upon the Holy Spirit.
- Help identify opportunities for ministry growth and community outreach.
- Encourage a culture of discipleship, evangelism, and missions.
Elder Leadership
- Serve as the primary teaching elder alongside the Board of Elders.
- Collaborate with the elders in shepherding the congregation.
- Assist the elders in establishing ministry priorities and strategic direction.
- Support the elders in maintaining biblical governance and church discipline when necessary.
Staff Leadership and Development
- Foster teamwork, unity, and healthy communication among staff.
- Equip ministry leaders to fulfill their individual responsibilities effectively.
- Encourage servant leadership throughout every ministry.
Community Outreach and Missions
- Encourage the congregation to faithfully proclaim the Gospel locally and globally.
- Build relationships within the surrounding community.
- Support Bethel's commitment to church planting, missions, and evangelism.
- Represent Bethel Church within the BFC denominational meetings, local pastor gatherings, and various community events.
