Welcome to the next chapter of Cimarron First Baptist Church's story! We are a warm, close-knit family of believers in the quiet, friendly town of Cimarron, Kansas—right in the heart of the High Plains, conveniently centered between Dodge City and Garden City.

Our vision is anything but small. We long to see lives transformed by the power of the Gospel, and we are prayerfully seeking a servant leader who senses God's clear calling to join us in this exciting season of faithful, joyful growth.

If you are a man who is preferably bilingual in English and Spanish, or can communicate with the Latinos in our community who turns "what if" into "look what God has done," who burns with passion for God's Word, loves bold evangelism, meets people right where they are, and is deeply committed to reaching the lost, making disciples, and fulfilling the Great Commission—we believe the Holy Spirit may be stirring your heart toward us.

We especially desire to reach and love the growing Hispanic community in our area, and we are looking for a shepherd who will help us do that with joy and cultural sensitivity.

We are a multigenerational, family-centered church with a big heart for kids, teens, parents, and grandparents—and it shows. We have a growing youth program with a beautiful new facility that is already making a difference. From Sunday School and Kids Club on Wednesdays to our vibrant Youth Group, we are passionate about seeing every age group know, love, and serve Jesus Christ.

1. Has a vibrant, mature, and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through a life of integrity, humility, prayer, and dependence on the Holy Spirit.2. Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish and has a genuine passion to reach and minister to the Hispanic community in our area.3. Demonstrates a clear calling to pastoral ministry, a heart for shepherding God's people and a passion for helping the church grow spiritually and reach the community. All previous pastoral experience will be considered and we will highly consider less experienced candidates who show strong biblical leadership, spiritual maturity, and a commitment to ministry. FBC Cimarron would be willing to ordain the right candidate.4. Fully aligns with our Southern Baptist doctrinal beliefs (the Baptist Faith and Message) and is committed to faithfully preaching and teaching the Bible without compromise.5. Is ready to become a member of Cimarron First Baptist Church and joyfully make Cimarron, KS their home and ministry field.

Candidate CharacteristicsWe are searching for a Lead Pastor who:

Lives out the character of a shepherd described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-4.Has a burning passion for God's Word, bold evangelism, reaching the lost, making disciples, and fulfilling the Great Commission—especially among our Hispanic neighbors.Possesses a servant-leader heart, visionary faith, and humble adaptability to lead a small-town church into greater Kingdom fruitfulness.Is personable, compassionate, and approachable, fostering a culture where everyone feels seen, loved, and valued.Communicates with clarity, passion, and Holy Spirit power—bringing the Bible alive so hearts are stirred and lives are changed.Prioritizes prayer—for himself, his family, our church, and our community.Loves people wholeheartedly and shows Christ-like care for their spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.Is excited to disciple and mentor others, especially families, children, and youth.

Key ResponsibilitiesPreaching/TeachingBring Scripture to life with sermons that are engaging, relevant, and deeply rooted in truth. Make us laugh, make us cry, and above all, make us see and love Jesus more clearly each week. Lead Bible studies and discipleship groups that help us all grow deeper in the Word.

Leadership & Vision CastingSeek God's vision for our church and lead us forward with faith and joy. Mentor and equip our staff, lay leaders, and volunteers so every ministry flourishes. Prioritize and champion our Kids Club, growing Youth Group with our new facility, and family ministries so the next generation knows Jesus.

Care & ConnectionWalk with us through every season of life—celebrating new babies, comforting the grieving, visiting the sick, and offering a listening ear filled with wisdom and grace. Empower our members to care for one another in an authentic, Christ-centered community.

Compensation & Benefits Salary is based on ministry experience and education.Designated housing allowance (in accordance with IRS guidelines).Health insurance stipend.Final compensation will be prayerfully determined based on experience, education, and family needs.
