We are a Christ-centered, Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church in Pownal, Maine. Pownal is a growing bedroom community to Portland. We are the only church in our town. We want to reach Pownal and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are conservative in doctrine (embracing the inerrancy and infallibility of the Scriptures). We are blended in worship (hymns & songs from Passion, Elevation, Gettys, etc.). We have a vision of reaching the growing unchurched community around us. We pray that our next pastor will lead us to love God's Word and live out Christ's mission to seek and to save the lost.
We are historically independent. To increase our effectiveness in reaching out to the unchurched, we have recently affiliated with the Baptist Churches of New England (BCNE of the SBC).
We are looking for a pastor with the heart of a shepherd who will also help us reach younger people and the lost community around us. The pastor works in collaboration with the Deacons and Trustees, in accordance with our Bylaws, and in agreement with the Bible. As our church grows, we hope to grow our pastoral team as well.
