ABOUT US
What began as a home church gathering in August 2024 grew, by God's grace, into the public launch of Gospel for the Nations Church (GNC) in August 2025.
From the beginning, our desire has been simple: to glorify God by faithfully proclaiming Jesus Christ and making disciples of all nations.
GNC is an international, English-speaking Baptist church in Koh Samui, Thailand. We are committed to the authority, sufficiency, and inerrancy of God's Word, with preaching and teaching that are Scripture-grounded, Christ-centered, and Gospel-focused.
As a church family, we seek to love God, love one another, make disciples, and proclaim Christ to the nations. We value prayer, sound doctrine, genuine fellowship, faithful discipleship, and joyful obedience to Christ.
As an international church, we have the privilege of welcoming people from many nations, cultures, and backgrounds, united by one Lord, one faith, and one Gospel.
Our prayer is to see lives transformed by the Gospel, God's people strengthened in the faith, and Christ exalted among the nations—for the glory of God and the good of His Church.
CURRENTLY NEED
We are prayerfully seeking a biblically qualified man to serve as Pastor/Elder, with a particular As our current pastor and his family prepare to another chapter in life, GNC is prayerfully seeking a biblically qualified man to serve as Lead Pastor/Elder and provide ongoing pastoral leadership for the church.
We are looking for a man committed to the faithful, expositional preaching and teaching of God's Word, with a heart for prayer, shepherding, discipleship, evangelism, and the spiritual growth of God's people.
Our prayer is that the Lord would provide the right man to faithfully continue the work He has begun through GNC in Koh Samui.
Qualifications
The man we are seeking should:
- Fulfill the biblical qualifications for an elder as described in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
- Demonstrate strong Christian character, spiritual maturity, humility, and a genuine love for Christ and His people.
- Have his marriage, family, personal life, and finances ordered according to biblical principles.
- Possess pastoral sensitivity and the ability to lovingly shepherd and connect with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Be firmly committed to the authority, sufficiency, and inerrancy of Scripture.
- Hold convictions consistent with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith.
- Have a clear calling and desire to serve Christ and His Church in pastoral ministry.
- Demonstrate a God-given ability to preach and teach God's Word faithfully and clearly.
- Have a heart for evangelism, discipleship, prayer, and the spiritual growth of the congregation.
- Be willing and able to serve within an international church context, where members come from different nations, cultures, and Christian backgrounds.
Formal theological or seminary education is preferred, though we recognize that biblical qualification, proven character, pastoral calling, and faithful ministry are of primary importance.
Responsibilities
Preaching & Teaching the Word: The preaching of God's Word is central to the ministry of GNC. The pastor will be expected to faithfully preach and teach Scripture, with expository preaching as the normal pattern of the church's pulpit ministry. He will prepare and lead regular worship services, preach the Word, administer the ordinances, and provide biblical leadership for the public ministry of the church.
Prayer & Pastoral Care: The pastor will devote himself to prayer and the care of God's people, providing pastoral encouragement, biblical counsel, prayer, visitation, and spiritual guidance to members of the congregation.
Shepherding the Church: The pastor will serve as a shepherd among God's people, leading with humility and love and seeking the spiritual health and unity of the congregation. He will work alongside deacons and other ministry leaders, encouraging the whole church to use their gifts in service to Christ and one another.
Evangelism & Missions: As an international church, GNC has a unique opportunity to proclaim the Gospel among people from many nations. The pastor should lead by example in personal evangelism and help equip the congregation to faithfully proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and fulfill the Great Commission.
Discipleship & Equipping the Saints: The pastor will seek to equip the saints for the work of ministry through discipleship, teaching, training, and mentoring. As the church grows, he will also help identify, encourage, and train biblically qualified men toward future eldership and ministry leadership.
A Plurality of Elders: GNC believes that the biblical pattern for church leadership is a plurality of qualified elders serving together to shepherd the local church. Therefore, while this position carries significant pastoral responsibility and leadership, our desire is ultimately to develop a healthy plurality of elders who serve together in humility, accountability, and unity under the headship of Christ. The pastor will be expected to help lead the church toward this biblical model of shared pastoral leadership.
Life & Ministry in Koh Samui: Serving at GNC means ministering in a unique international context.
Koh Samui brings together people from many nations, cultures, and backgrounds. This provides wonderful opportunities for Gospel ministry, but also requires cultural sensitivity, flexibility, humility, and a genuine love for people.
We are looking for a man who sees this not simply as a position, but as an opportunity to serve Christ and make His Gospel known among the nations.
