Job Overview
The Senior Pastor of Pensacola Bible Fellowship will serve as the primary teaching elder and spiritual leader of the church, providing expository preaching, spiritual vision, and pastoral care in alignment with our purpose to glorify God through proclaiming the gospel, teaching the Word, equipping believers, making disciples, and serving the local community. He will work closely with the Board of Elders to oversee the spiritual health and direction of the church, set ministry priorities, and lead staff and key ministry leaders, while shepherding the congregation through prayer, counseling, discipleship, and the administration of weddings, baptisms, dedications, and funerals. As an elder, he will share in the prayerful oversight and governance of the church in a collegial team of qualified men, modeling humble servant leadership, sound doctrine, and a Christlike example in life and ministry.
Job Description
The lead pastor (Senior Pastor) of Pensacola Bible Fellowship is the primary teaching elder and spiritual leader of the church; he automatically serves as an elder for as long as he remains employed as senior pastor, voting equally with other elders on governance, discipline, and finance while not serving as Board Chairman or Secretary; his core responsibilities include providing primary teaching and preaching through regular expository ministry, offering spiritual leadership and vision, shepherding and caring for the congregation through prayer, counseling, discipling, and equipping believers, overseeing the spiritual health and doctrinal soundness of the church, working with the elders to set ministry priorities and lead staff and key ministry leaders, performing weddings, baptisms, dedications, and funerals, representing the church in the community, and serving under the same biblical qualifications, accountability, and removal standards as other elders, with generous but carefully overseen compensation determined by non-staff elders to avoid conflicts of interest.
