Quail Springs Baptist Church is seeking a passionate and spiritually mature leader to serve as our Minister of Children, providing vision, leadership, and care for a thriving, gospel-centered ministry to children from birth through fifth grade. This role is central to our mission of leading people to become passionate followers of Jesus Christ by nurturing the spiritual formation of children and equipping families to disciple the next generation.
The Minister of Children will lead a Christ-centered, gospel-driven ministry that partners closely with parents and caregivers, helping them cultivate faith in the home while creating engaging, safe, and spiritually formative environments within the church. Working collaboratively with the Next Generation Team, this leader will help cast and implement a compelling vision for discipling children that aligns with the broader mission and strategy of Quail Springs Baptist Church.
This role requires a leader who is both visionary and hands-on—someone who can shepherd children and families while also building, equipping, and leading a strong team of staff and volunteers. The Minister of Children will oversee all aspects of the children's ministry, including teaching, worship experiences, events, safety protocols, and hospitality, ensuring excellence in every area. A key aspect of the role includes actively sharing the gospel with children and supporting parents with biblical guidance and practical resources for marriage, parenting, and discipleship at home.
The Minister of Children will also be responsible for recruiting, training, and developing a team committed to evangelism and disciple-making, while stewarding ministry resources with integrity and fiscal responsibility. This position provides direct oversight to several team members, including preschool ministry leadership and weekday early education staff.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by personal integrity, spiritual maturity, and theological alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. Candidates should possess strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, along with proven experience leading children's ministry in a large church context. A bachelor's degree is preferred, with additional theological or ministry training considered a plus. Prior supervisory experience is also highly valued.
