First Baptist Church of Gautier is seeking a full-time Minister of Music to lead a Christ-centered worship ministry that embraces both traditional hymns and contemporary worship music. Working closely with the Senior Pastor, this individual will plan and lead biblically faithful, congregationally engaging worship services that emphasize musical excellence and meaningful participation.
Responsibilities include leading congregational worship, directing and developing the church's worship choir, overseeing music ministries from preschool through adults, and equipping volunteers, including instrumentalists and media/sound teams. The Minister of Music will also assist with weddings, funerals, and special services.
This dual-responsibility position includes a secondary ministry assignment aligned with the candidate's calling, gifting, and experience, such as senior adults, missions, discipleship, or students.
Candidates must demonstrate a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, affirm the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and possess strong musical, leadership, and organizational skills. A degree in music or ministry is preferred, along with experience leading congregational worship and directing church choirs.
