Poplar Grove Baptist Church in Cookeville, Tennessee seeks a bi-vocational Minister of Music.

Principal Function: The Minister of Music is to model, serve, and lead the body of Christ in worship, discipleship, and outreach through the music ministries of the church. He is to shepherd the people involved in the music ministries of the church and provide leadership in the development any children, student, and adult music programs.

Administrative Leadership1. Commit to positive relationships and communication with the pastor and other ministry staff leaders.2. Organize, coordinate, communicate, implement, and evaluate total worship and music ministry.3. Facilitate the budget of the entire worship and music ministry.4. Maintain and supervise equipment and instruments.5. Manage the A/V team6. Oversee Live Stream7. Staff and help equip the music ministry leadership.8. Coordinate and approve music for worship, funerals, and weddings.9. Use ProPresenter, Planning Center, and other media.

Congregational Leadership1. Work with the pastor and other worship leadership in developing and implementing meaningful worship experiences for the congregation.2. Develop and lead the congregation in biblical worship education.

Instrumental and Choral Leadership1. Provide training opportunities and resources for band and singers.2. Provide consistent communication through Planning Center.3. Coordinate music selection.4. Coordinate or lead music worship for Wednesday night student band. Children5. Enlist and develop children's choir ministry leadership6. Lead in the development of individual musicians through training

Ministerial Leadership1. Pastoral Care a. Be aware of spiritual needs of ministry area. b. Be consistent in contacting membership, at least in music ministry area (phone calls, emails, visitation). c. Be active in discipleship and encouragement. d. Be involved in assisting those called to music ministry.2. Outreach and Missions a. Be involved in visitation and outreach ministries. b. Be an active participant in Southern Baptist causes. c. Be actively involved in the community. d. Activate the music ministry in missions through service projects and tours.

Possess a commitment for ongoing skill development through training opportunities, seminary studies, orother conferences and workshops. b. Qualifications:1. Faith a. A born-again believer in Jesus Christ. Demonstrates a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. b. Adheres to the PGBC Statement of Faith (BF&M2000)2. Pastoral: preferred ordained; preferred calling to shepherd3. Education: Musical background and Musical training (preferred)4. Experience: a. 3-5 years b. Has led/participated in band, praise team/choir and live worship5. Skills: a. Manage people in a band and singing capacity b. Preferred ability to play an instrument c. Know or willing to learn Logic/ProPresenter/arrangement software d. Ability to teach arrangements and instrumental parts6. Hours: a. Flexible on and off campus hours b. Attend staff meetings when possible
