POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Minister of Worship/Music is responsible for leading and developing the music ministry of Smyrna Baptist Church in a way that honors Christ and supports the overall mission of the church. This role involves working collaboratively with the pastor to plan and lead worship services, as well as developing a Christ-centered music ministry. Our current music style can be described as blended, and our goal is to continue incorporating both contemporary and traditional songs in our worship services. This is a part-time position that focuses on utilizing God-given gifts and talents to engage the congregation and community in meaningful worship.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and direct congregational singing in Sunday Morning worship services.

Collaborate with the Pastor to plan and evaluate worship services.

Recruit and involve church members in the Worship Ministry, encouraging them to use their musical gifts for God's glory.

Oversee the purchase of any music materials within the church's budget.

Communicate and coordinate weekly with musicians, volunteers, and staff to ensure the smooth operation of worship services.

Serve as an active member of Smyrna Baptist Church, contributing to the overall vision and mission of the church.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Must be willing to join as a member of Smyrna Baptist Church.

Must believe and affirm the Baptist Faith and Message of 2000.

Must be a gifted and called worship leader.

Must have strong organizational and communication skills.

Must have a heart for service, teamwork, and worship.

Instrumental ability is a "plus."
