Minister to High School StudentsReports To: Associate Pastor

Principal Function:

The Minister to High School Students is responsible for the direction of the overall High School Student Ministry of FBC grades nine through college.

Purpose:

To partner with families to develop spiritually mature youth who can stand for Christ on campus and in the work placeTo inspire students to influence their generation for ChristSpecific List of Responsibilities:

Discipleship and Teaching

Oversees the High School Student Sunday School program, including staffing, organization, direction, curriculum and facilitiesCoordinates related discipleship programs such as student Bible Studies, Small Groups, and Wednesday night activitiesKeeps informed of current methods, materials, and procedures in student ministryProvides evangelism training so students can effectively share their faithSeeks to intentionally call out and train students to full-time gospel ministry to serve both domestically and globallyWork with Associate Pastor to develop a discipleship plan to ensure students grow from leaders in the student ministry to future adult leaders in the churchPartners with parents to cultivate a culture of family discipleship, equipping them to lead their students spiritually and shepherd them toward Christ

Relationship Building and Outreach

a. Creates and schedules special events to enhance the ministry and build relationships which include but not be limited to DiscipleNow Weekends, Student retreats, and other large-scale events.

b. Directs and oversees all trips and summer activities which may include mission trips and youth camps

Communication

a. Maintains effective communication with parents concerning all student activities

b. Effectively uses technology to communicate with students

c. Maintains the Student Ministries portion of FBC Website to include the Student Ministries Calendar and other pertinent data

Organization and Administration

a. Assists in planning the church calendar

b. Maintains a high school student ministries calendar

c. Coordinates all committees and organizations in their interaction with the high school student ministry

d. Develops and administers the high school student ministries budget

e. Uses technology effectively

f. Maintains and uses facilities and equipment allotted to student ministries wisely
