Reports To: Executive PastorFLSA Status: ExemptPosition SummaryThe Missions Pastor at Riverland Hills Baptist Church provides leadership and pastoral oversight for all local, regional, and global missions efforts. This role champions the church's calling to make disciples by mobilizing the congregation to live on mission—serving others, sharing the Gospel, and engaging the world with the love of Christ.

The Missions Pastor plays a key role in advancing Riverland Hills' mission by creating clear pathways for every member to participate in outreach and by cultivating strategic partnerships that extend the church's impact beyond its walls.Key ResponsibilitiesVision & AlignmentLead and implement a mission strategy that aligns with Riverland Hills' mission to make disciples and its vision for transformational community impactEnsure all mission efforts reflect the church's core values and ministry philosophyRegularly evaluate effectiveness and provide direction for growth and refinementLocal & Regional EngagementOversee community outreach initiatives and partnerships within the Midlands and surrounding areasIdentify opportunities to serve, support, and engage local needs in meaningful, Gospel-centered waysEquip members to live missionally in their everyday livesGlobal MissionsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with global mission partnersEvaluate and recommend new partnerships aligned with church prioritiesLead and coordinate short-term mission trips that foster long-term impactCongregational MobilizationRecruit, train, and shepherd volunteers for mission involvementCreate clear next steps for members to engage in outreach opportunitiesCollaborate with ministry leaders to integrate missions into all areas of church lifeLeadership DevelopmentIdentify and develop leaders within the missions ministryProvide coaching, training, and spiritual support to team leaders and volunteersFoster a culture where missions are owned by the whole church, not just a ministryAdministration & StewardshipOversee the mission's budget with integrity and strategic focusEnsure responsible stewardship and clear communication of financial support to partnersMaintain organized systems for tracking engagement, trips, and partnershipsTeaching & CommunicationCommunicate the vision and impact of missions regularly through services, events, and digital platformsShare stories that inspire participation and generosityPreach or teach as requested, especially on outreach, evangelism, and living on missionQualificationsA clear and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to pastoral ministryAlignment with Riverland Hills Baptist Church's doctrine, mission, and valuesBachelor's degree required; seminary or theological training preferred5+ years of SBC ministry experience, with SBC missions or outreach leadership Strong leadership, relational, and organizational skillsEffective communicator with the ability to teach and inspireCross-cultural ministry experience is highly valuedCore CompetenciesPassion for the Great Commission and disciple-makingAbility to mobilize people into meaningful actionStrategic thinking with strong executionRelational leadership and team developmentCultural awareness and adaptabilityWork ScheduleFull-time, including evenings and weekends as requiredTravel required for mission trips and partner engagementSpiritual ExpectationsModel a life of spiritual maturity, humility, and integrityMaintain a consistent devotional lifeBe an active, engaged member of Riverland HillsLead with a servant's heart in all areas of ministry
