Position Summary
First Baptist Church Alcoa is seeking a Christ-centered Worship Leader to provide leadership for the church's worship ministry through weekly service planning, congregational worship leadership, volunteer development, and cooperation with the Senior Pastor.
This position is designed for a bivocational ministry leader who is called to serve the local church by helping cultivate meaningful, Christ-centered worship.
Expected Time Commitment: 8–12 hours per week Compensation: $375 – $475 per week
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
- Plan & lead congregational worship during weekly worship services.
- Work with the Senior Pastor to plan worship services that support the preaching ministry.
- Coordinate and lead weekly rehearsals as needed.
Volunteer Development
- Recruit, encourage, and develop worship team volunteers.
- Help identify and mentor future worship leaders, musicians, and vocalists.
- Foster healthy relationships within the worship ministry.
Ministry Coordination
- Communicate schedules and service plans with worship ministry participants.
- Coordinate with AVL volunteers and other ministry leaders as needed.
- Assist with special worship services throughout the year including but not limited to Christmas, Holy Week, and Easter.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience leading worship in a local church is preferred, but not required.
- Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Ability to lead within a Southern Baptist church context.
- Experience working with volunteer-based worship ministries.
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Senior Pastor.
