Next Generation Pastor

The Next Generation Pastor will complement the senior pastor and focus on recruiting, discipleship and growing the next generation of believers. They will seek pathways to provide ministries that will nurture and equip children, teenagers, young adults and young families to grow in their faith. These pathways will align with the mission of Cherry Point Baptist Church in sharing Jesus Christ, growing believers and changing our world.

Qualifications and Experience

• A bachelor's degree or an advanced degree from an accredited institution preferred. • A minimum of two years of experience in ministry. • Must be Biblically aligned with the teachings of the New Testament church in both personal and professional life.

Responsibilities:

• Create and implement unified age-appropriate pathways that connect (or resonate) with children, teenagers, young adults and young families. • Recruit, train, motivate and equip volunteers to participate in church ministries and outreach within budget constraints. • Perform pastoral duties such as preaching and other tasks as necessary. • Oversee Next Generation curriculum, programs, activities, and community outreach. • Engage with publicity personnel regarding social media account(s) input and access.

• Communication skills – strong oral and written communication • Motivational skills – skills in team building and motivation • Generational Empathy and Emotional Intelligence to establish and maintain healthy personal and professional boundaries in the church and the community • Adaptability – can adapt in a positive manner to the ever evolving needs of the church. • Organizational and administrative skills and the ability manage and implement budgeted items • Ability to work independently without close supervision. • Skills in developing and presenting sermon materials and perform Sunday Services.

Compensation:

Compensation will be negotiated and within the church budget. Parsonage is available.
