Part-Time Worship Director: Covenant Life Community Church
General Information
Job Title:
Part-Time Worship Director: Covenant Life Community Church
Job Description:
Worship Director Job Description
Job Overview:
CLCC's gathered worship is blended and semi-liturgical: we pursue "simple and faithful" worship under the regulative principle, often summarized as "reading, praying, singing, preaching, and seeing" the Bible. Our services regularly include biblically grounded structure (e.g., call to worship, Scripture readings, confession/creed, pastoral prayer, confession of sin) with clear explanation so that the form serves the gospel and the hearts of our people—never mere routine.
The Worship Director exists to help the congregation sing and pray the Word, to support the preaching ministry, and to develop a healthy, sustainable worship ministry appropriate to a growing mission church.
This is a part-time position, and the worship director reports directly to the Church Planter.
Responsibilities: (Key Outcomes)
- Plan and lead weekly Sunday worship in a way that is Scripture-shaped, gospel-centered, and pastorally sensitive.
- Build and shepherd a volunteer worship team (musicians, vocalists, A/V as applicable) with clear expectations, training, and pastoral care.
- Collaborate with the pastor to integrate service elements with the preaching text/series and the church calendar rhythms (e.g., call to worship, confession, assurance, communion songs as scheduled).
- Strengthen congregational participation (not performance), cultivating clarity, warmth, and appropriate expressive response.
Duties: (Concrete Tasks)
- Create the service music plan and coordinate with the pastor on order of worship and transitions.
- Lead or coordinate rehearsals; prepare charts/lyrics; communicate clearly with volunteers.
- Lead worship on Sundays (or schedule/oversee leaders when absent).
- Partner with sound/tech volunteers to support congregational singing (levels, clarity, projection).
- Coordinate music planning for special services (Advent/Christmas, Good Friday/Easter, etc.), as needed.
Position Qualifications:
Qualifications
Spiritual & theological
- Evident Christian maturity, humility, teachability, and a servant-leader posture.
- Agreement with the church's doctrinal commitments as a PCA congregation and alignment with CLCC's worship convictions (simple/faithful worship, regulative-principle instincts, structured-but-explained liturgy).
Musical & practical
- Demonstrated ability to lead congregational singing (vocally and/or instrumentally) and work with a team.
- Comfortable with blended worship: hymns/psalms and modern congregational music, arranged for a small-to-medium volunteer team.
- Able to plan services with pastoral sensitivity (keys, tempos, transitions, Scripture readings and thematic coherence).
- Strong communication and organization skills; reliability for Sunday responsibilities.
Preferred
- Prior experience leading worship in a Reformed/Presbyterian or semi-liturgical context.
- Basic competency with common worship-planning and chart tools like Planning Center.

Description of Organization
Covenant Life Community Church (CLCC) is a mission church in Casselberry (Orlando area), Florida, and a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We are also the mission church of Orlando Chinese Evangelical Christian Church (OCECC), PCA, as we labor to see a healthy, gospel-centered, multi-ethnic congregation take root and grow.
Our mission is clear: to glorify God and advance his kingdom by making disciples of all nations through the transforming power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a church community, we aim to grow in worship, discipleship, fellowship, outreach, and unity—seeking to bless our neighbors "in word and deed," while pursuing the beauty of one body formed from many peoples in Jesus Christ.
In our gathered worship, CLCC is committed to simple and faithful worship shaped by Scripture (often summarized as "reading, praying, singing, preaching, and seeing" the Bible), with meaningful structure that is explained rather than performed in a rote way, and with encouragement toward heartfelt, fitting expression. We worship weekly at 2610 US 17–92, Casselberry, FL 32707 (Sunday School 9:30 AM, Worship Service 11:00 AM).
