The congregation of Calvary Baptist Church is prayerfully seeking a FT pastor that lives the life of a I Timothy 3:1-7 leader to the best of his ability; meets the qualifications of an elder as identified in scripture; and is intentional about ongoing personal spiritual development. We are a small congregation of about 50, located in the heart of Illinois, affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, and affirm to The Baptist Faith & Messge 2000. Pastor should be able to lead with spiritual direction and leadership partnering with deacons and ministry leaders; encourage involvement and development of ministries; assist in the overall program of the church; provide Biblical teaching and sermons to the congregation with weekly sermons and Bible study sessions; counsel congregation, deacons, and ministry boards as they perform their assigned responsibilities; discipline; provide pastoral care; develop leaders and disciples of Jesus Christ; lead church involvement with the local community; manage the ministry staff; oversee the policies and procedures of the church; be an active member of the church; and collaborate with and actively support the Southern Baptist Convention.
