Fulltime Pastor for an elder-led, Free-Will Baptist Church expected to work 45 to 50 hours a week

About us:

We are a small church, that was founded in 1680, with mainly a single pastor, in a rural community. We sit on 25+ wooded acres, are financially stable and without debt.

Salary & Benefits:

Based on education, housing need, & experience; A four bedroom, 1 & ½ bath parsonage is available. (Utilities not included) Retirement – additional 12 to 20% of the Pastor's Cash salary, Workman's Compensation & Disability Insurance, Parental Leave, Vacation time starting at 2 weeks after the first year and growing to 4 weeks paid & the equivalent of two days each week free from ministerial duties.

Goal:

Our desire is to find a Spirit-filled person of Godly character with a strong sense of calling to fulfill the biblical role of full-time pastor (e.g., Acts 6:1-7; Eph. 4:11-16; Matt. 18:15-20; 1 Pet. 5:1-4; 1 Tim. 3:1-7, 4:13, Titus 1:7-9). A teacher and effective communicator who enables the congregation to learn and understand God's word. A pastor equipped for godly counsel who emphasizes evangelism and outreach to our community.

Our Affirmation of Faith: is to be a Witness to the saving grace of God in Christ, to Call men and women to repentance and faith, and to Exult the worship of the one true God

Worship: We value bringing glory to God in all that we do. Worship extends beyond Sunday morning. It's a lifestyle of sacrifice and praise (Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Pet. 2:9; Heb. 10:25).

Teaching: We value God's word, the Bible. We desire to faithfully teach God's word and we believe that Christ-centered, expositional teaching is the best way to accomplish this (Col. 1:28; Acts 20:27).

Prayer: We value prayer. It is an expression of our dependence on the Lord and we desire to build prayer into all that we do (Mark 9:29; Heb. 4:16).

Community: We value authentic community where we care for one another, maintain accountability with one another and use our spiritual gifts to serve one another. We invest ourselves in the lives of others (1 Cor. 12-14; 1 John 3:16-17; Heb. 3:13; James 5:16)

Missions: We value missions. We wish to see people in Tiverton and beyond come to know Jesus personally as their Lord and Savior. We believe that this is God's desire, and we want to be faithful in bringing hope to the world through the gospel of Jesus Christ (Matt. 28:18-20; John 20:21)

Pre-requisites

1. Christian – must follow the essential doctrines
2. Must have experience in Ministry
3. Belief that the Bible is Inerrant in all major points
4. Belief that the Holy Spirit is alive and active
5. Is working on or has completed Seminary

1. Uphold the mission of the church by seeking the will of God as it pertains to this church and to further its implementation and fulfillment.
2. Maintain biblical and professional study, reflect upon the journey of faith and share learning and insights through sermons, bible study, meetings, personal counsel and other suitable means.
3. Lead regular services of worship that encourage participants to have a personal relationship with God.
4. Train, support and empower members and participants to use their talents and spiritual gifts in ministry for the strengthening of "the body of Christ."
5. Offer visitation to the sick and homebound and offer help in a crisis situation as it is appropriate and possible.
6. Officiate at weddings, baptisms, funerals and child dedication services, and participate in other special services for church members, participants and the community. (Special note: while these services should be made as personal as possible, they must always be Christian in nature.)
7. Maintain regular personal contact with church members and participants.
8. Perform those administrative duties incumbent upon the pastor.
