North Fork Baptist Church in Riverton, West Virginia, is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor.
North Fork Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist congregation founded in 1983, is located between the rural communities of Riverton and Seneca Rocks, West Virginia—an area known for its stunning mountain views and peaceful surroundings. The church is prayerfully seeking a full-time pastor to serve as the spiritual leader of the congregation. The pastor will be responsible to God and the church to faithfully proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, demonstrate a burden for the lost, and provide Christlike leadership, teaching, pastoral care, and equipping for this body of believers as they encourage one another and live on mission to reach their community with the good news of Christ.
The ideal candidate will be a man of integrity and good moral character, with a strong reputation inside and outside the church, exhibiting self-control, hospitality, and a gentle, non-quarrelsome spirit. He should manage his household well, be Baptist by faith, and be in agreement with the church's statement of faith. Formal biblical or pastoral training from a seminary or Bible college is preferred, as well as at least seven years of pastoral and counseling experience.
The pastor will oversee the welfare and ministry of the church by leading worship services on regular and special occasions; giving primary leadership to the pulpit ministry; working with the deacons and any church staff to help North Fork function as a New Testament church; providing pastoral care and counseling to members and the community; and helping the church fulfill its mission through evangelism, discipleship, and service. He will also preside over church meetings (as outlined in the by-laws) and serve as an ex-officio, non-voting member of all organizations, departments, and committees.
