Job Description
Responsibilities
As a team member of Cross+Crown there will be plentiful opportunities to participate as a member of the Elder Team that include but are not limited to leading, teaching, preaching, facilitating events, and any other tasks as assigned. The following will be the particular areas of emphasis and responsibility in this role:
Welcome Experience – Shaping the Sunday morning experience, especially for first-time visitors, and empowering the members to build a warm and welcoming culture for the Edmonds community.
- Connect Process – Every visitor should have the opportunity to connect with our community with clear and easy next steps.
- Follow-up – Ensure that each person can be connected to the most appropriate contact (CG Leader, ministry team leader, etc.) and conduct accurate tracking of each connection (e.g. stickiness).
- Hospitality – Have a ‘guest-first' mentality and help to shape our services with the first-time guest in mind. This could include everything from signage, greeting, service order, explanations, welcome gifts, etc.
Community Groups – Assume the role of Community Group Coach for the Edmonds Church to establish a ‘chain of care' between members and pastoral team.
- Leader Training – Identify, train/equip and commission new/additional Community Group Leaders to provide connection and ongoing care for the Campus congregation.
- Care – Provide ongoing care for church members, including the creation of a referral network for more intensive, ongoing care issues.
- Hands & Feet – Create and administrate a team to meet practical needs of church members (e.g. meal trains, work parties, hospital visits, etc.)
Discipleship Process – Create and recruit to a growth pathway that would encourage every believer to grow as disciple-making follower of Jesus.
- Growth Pathways – help to create a culture and system for every believer to grow as a disciple of Christ.
- Discipleship Groups – recruit, lead and launch discipleship groups that could include Bible Studies and the use of the IV Marks materials.
- Training and Development – leading EQUIP trainings, Evangelism training, classes, etc.
Outreach and Event Planning – Leading and organizing community and outreach events with the purpose of building relationships and growing the church.
- Community-building Events – Coordination and execution of events that create opportunities for people within the church to build stronger relationships with one another (while curating events that guests would be welcomed and encouraged to attend). Examples include: Summer BBQs, Picnic in the Park, Movie Day, Retreats, Ladies Gatherings, Guys Nights, etc.
- Outreach Events – Coordinating with the campus leadership team to conduct quarterly events for community outreach. These events are fun and engaging that helps reach the surrounding community. Examples: Kids Night Out, One Voice, Run To Win Camps, VBS, etc.
- Service Events – Supporting the organizations that we currently serve (Nourishing Network, Next Step Pregnancy Services) and develop new and ongoing networking and service organization relationships for future service opportunities.
