Job Overview

This is a full-time position reporting to the Lead Pastor. The Pastor of Ministries and Operations assists the Lead Pastor in strengthening the spiritual health, unity and engagement of the congregation as well as overseeing the day-to-day operations of the church. This position provides pastoral care, coordinates churchwide ministries, and assumes selected administrative responsibilities.

Job Description

Personal and Professional Characteristics:

• As a member of the elder team, possess strong Christian character and work ethic

(demonstrate the qualifications of a pastor found in Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3)

• Maintain a vibrant faith and love relationship with Christ through personal Bible study,

prayer, evangelism, service, and other spiritual disciplines

• Align fully with the church's statement of faith, mission, vision and governing documents

• Ability to preach, teach, coordinate ministries, and lead volunteers

• Strong communication, organizational, relational and conflict-resolution skills

• Previous pastoral, church staff, ministry leadership, or administrative experience

• Lead by example in proclaiming the Gospel of Christ in our community and making

disciples who make disciples to the ends of the earth

Primary Objectives:

• Shepherd with the Lead Pastor and elders in establishing, reviewing and maintaining the

missional alignment and overall direction of the church

• Preach as scheduled by the Lead Pastor

• Promote congregational unity, spiritual growth, active participation in worship,

discipleship, Bible study, service, missions, and fellowship

• Maintain clear channels of communication with the Lead Pastor, ministry staff and elders

in order to implement the plans and decisions for the church

• Assist ministry leaders with planning, goal setting, volunteer recruitment & training

• Lead in various worship gatherings, Bible studies, and discipleship opportunities while

supporting evangelism, outreach, missions, and small group ministries

• Assist the Lead Pastor in coordinating staff priorities and churchwide responsibilities

• Help organize staff meetings, prepare agenda when requested, and track appropriate

follow-up.

• Assist ministry leaders in preparing ministry plans, budgets, timelines, and execution

• Encourage cooperation and communication among ministry staff, elders, the deacon

ministry, committees, and volunteers

• Help implement church policies, procedures, programs, and projects

• Direct the use and care of the church's facilities through lay leaders, contractors and

volunteers, so that people are loved and Jesus is worshipped

• Assist with facility use, event logistics, and risk management and emergency planning

• Ensure the church membership and assimilation process is properly supported by the

Office Manager

• Work with the Lead Pastor, elders, ministry staff, and lay leaders in developing longterm

ministry partnerships, both home and abroad
