Job Overview
Position Description: Edgefield Church (Nashville, TN) is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Pastor (pending past experience) to oversee and coordinate church operations in service to its mission as a Word-centered, elder-led, congregationally governed body. This role exists to faithfully steward the church's time, resources, and structures so that the ministry of the Word flourishes, the congregation is equipped for meaningful membership and mission, and the elders are freed to devote themselves to prayer, teaching, and pastoral oversight (Acts 6:1–7). The Assistant/Associate Pastor will work closely with the elders to ensure that the church's ministries, systems, and outreach efforts support the spiritual work of discipling the body and advancing the gospel locally and globally. This includes helping mobilize the congregation toward personal evangelism, community outreach, and participation in the church's missions efforts, while fostering a culture of hospitality, witness, and gospel engagement.

Job Description
Responsibilities
Pastoral Leadership – Operations
- Help ensure that the church's structures and systems reinforce a culture of meaningful membership, where each member is known, cared for, and responsible for the spiritual good of others
- Oversee the church's finances with transparency and integrity, including budgeting, reporting, and cultivating wise stewardship practices
- Lead the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers, aiming to involve members meaningfully in the life and ministry of the church
- Direct and support deacons responsible for Safety, Hospitality, Ordinances, and Audio/Visual, ensuring these functions serve the gathered church with minimal distraction
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the church, including facility stewardship, building maintenance, special projects, and Sunday gatherings
- Oversee human resources functions and basic IT systems in service of the church's ministry
- Direct and support the church's administrative staff
- Facilitate clear, timely, and edifying communication among the staff, elders, deacons, and members
- Support the elders in aligning ministry efforts and operational capacity with the church's mission and priorities
Pastoral Leadership – Outreach
- Mobilize and equip members toward faithful personal evangelism, hospitality, and everyday gospel witness through teaching, discipleship, and practical training opportunities
- Lead and coordinate the church's outreach and missions efforts, including local ministry initiatives, community engagement, missions partnerships, and short-term missions opportunities
- Work alongside the elders to develop long-term strategies, ministry pathways, and partnerships that strengthen the church's culture of evangelism and participation in local and global gospel ministry
