Pastor of Worship and Assimilation

The Pastor of Worship and Assimilation provides the spiritual and administrative leadership for the worship and guest connection ministries at Kingsland First Baptist Church. He is responsible for creating a Spirit-filled, Christ-centered worship environment, drawing all into a closer relationship with God. He will also lead the welcoming of guests and new members, helping them to connect into the life of the church and guiding them toward meaningful involvement in worship, small groups, and service. By uniting heartfelt worship with intentional connection, guests and members alike are equipped to grow spiritually and engage fully in the ministry of KFBC.

The Pastor of Worship and Assimilation is accountable to the Senior Pastor and Personnel Committee and is expected to work in unity with the church staff to advance the overall mission and vision of the church.

Primary Responsibilities:

Worship:

  • Plan, prepare, and lead worship services that are biblically sound, Spirit-led, and aligned with the mission of the church
  • Collaborate with the Senior Pastor in developing worship themes and service flow
  • Oversee song selection, music arrangements, and rehearsal schedules
  • Recruit and shepherd worship team members, instrumentalists, and choir
  • Lead weekly choir practice and praise band rehearsals
  • Work with ministry leaders to foster a dynamic atmosphere of praise through intergenerational worship
  • Assist in recruitment of audio/visual volunteers
  • Maintain all worship-related equipment with the Media Director

Assimilation and Connection:

  • Develop and oversee a clear process for welcoming, following up, and integrating guests and new members into active church involvement
  • Lead and coordinate KFBC's membership pathway (e.g., new member classes, connection events, and discipleship next steps)
  • Equip small group leaders and ministry teams to engage newcomers and foster community
  • Coordinate with pastoral staff, office staff, and ministry leaders to ensure effective communication and smooth transitions for guests becoming members

Administration and Oversight:

  • Develop ministry leaders and volunteers.
  • Collaborate with leadership and staff in strategic planning and decision-making
  • Work with committees and church leadership in developing and managing his ministerial budget
  • Ensure ministry operations are effective, legally compliant, and mission aligned

Other Tasks:

  • Shepherd the congregation through guidance, hospital visitation, funerals, and crisis care
  • Will be the point of contact for funeral preparations

Preferred qualities/qualifications:

1) Meets the biblical qualifications of an elder and shepherd as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and 1 Peter 5:2-3

2) Spiritual maturity and Biblical integrity

3) Leadership acumen/strategic oversight

4) Musically proficient with a heart for worship

5) The ability to lead well-organized corporate worship services, special choral presentations, choir practices, and praise band rehearsals

6) Relational and emotional intelligence

7) Missional and outreach oriented

8) Promote and foster a sense of community within the congregation

9) Commitment to self-study of Scripture and personal prayer life, as well as leading his own family in spiritual development

10) Theologically aligned with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000)

11) Ten years experience as a worship pastor
