Main Street Church is all about people knowing Jesus and making Him known. Located in Northern Kentucky, just 25 minutes from downtown Cincinnati, the church has grown steadily in its 60 year history.

With weekly attendance near 500, the church has seen rapid growth, doubling in size over the last three years. Main Street is passionate about declaring the Word, discipling the believer and deploying the church to the neighborhoods and nations.

Corporate worship is a priority at Main Street, and the worship gathering is Word centered, with an expositional style of teaching and preaching. We strive for excellence and authenticity with strong, genuine and passionate leadership.

Position Description:

Worship- 70%

The Pastor of Worship & Soul Care will oversee all things related to the planning and execution of our worship gatherings. This includes leadership of the vocal teams, the musicians, and the technical team (audio, video, lighting). He will work in collaboration with the Lead Pastor and other staff in planning and carrying out the vision and purpose of the worship ministry to lead Main Street in Spirit and Truth (John 4:23-24) and develop, recruit and train up worship leaders.

Soul Care- 30%

The Pastor of Worship & Soul Care will oversee the Biblical counseling ministry that centers largely in spiritual maturity, bringing people to better mental, spiritual, and emotional health, equipping them to become fully devoted followers of Christ.

Job Description

Key Worship Responsibilities:

• Pray, Plan and lead all worship services alongside the Lead Pastor, considering the biblical text to be preached and planning music components a month in advance.
• Plan songs that are biblical; rooted in truth, both new songs and hymns of the faith.
• Shepherd, disciple, and provide leadership development for the Worship Ministry at Main Street.
• Encourage and develop multi-generational worship opportunities within Main Street.
• Oversee stage and platform design.
• Develop and train a Technical Director and Technical Staff for all lighting, audio, and projection needs for worship services.
• Oversee maintenance of the music library, musical/sound equipment.
• Recruit, coach and pastor gifted vocalists and musicians from the congregation.
• Coordinate and lead rehearsals in preparation for worship services or special ministry events.
• Plan and execute special events including nights of worship.
• Collaborate with Main Street Worship team to write new worship songs.
• Develop, evaluate, and manage all budgetary line items pertaining to Worship Ministry.

Key Soul Care Responsibilities:

• Development of a biblical counseling ministry for attenders and members of Main Street.
• Work with lead pastor to coordinate one-on-one counseling with individuals and couples within Main Street.
• Provide biblical guidance, encouragement, and care in a way that is anchored in Scripture, centered on Christ and the gospel, grounded in theology and love.
• Develop, train and equip lay counselors for soul care.

• A self-starter with the ability of creativity and innovation.
• This person must be relationally connected to the church as a whole and seek to know and love the people here.
• Has an understanding that ministry has irregular hours and is willing to go above and beyond when ministry to people is needed.

Requirements:

• Meets the qualifications of an Elder seen in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9
• Agrees and submits to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
• Ministry/theological degree preferred.
• Will be an active member of the church, including participation in weekly worship, be connected to a small group/equip class, and be a faithful supporter of the church through tithes and offerings.
• Candidates do not need to be an ordained pastor but pastoral/shepherding experience is an advantage.
• Exceptional musical skills in voice and instrumentation with preference given to leading from guitar.
• Leadership experience working in a Mid to large church setting.
• Planning Center and Pro Presenter experience.
• Willing to be ACBC (Biblical Counseling) certified within 3 years of hire.
