Job Overview

First Baptist Church of Monterey is a Reformed Baptist church in Monterey, CA. We are committed to verse-by-verse expository teaching, the doctrines of grace, and the beauty of congregational worship.

1. Music & Worship Leadership

• Plan and lead weekly worship services in collaboration with the Lead Pastor.

• Oversee the worship team, including musicians, vocalists, and audio/visual volunteers.

• Select Christ-centered, theologically sound music that engages the congregation in meaningful worship.

2. College, Military, & Career Ministry

• Build and lead ministry programs for college students (CSUMB, Monterey Peninsula College) and military personnel (Defense Language Institute).
• Develop small groups, Bible studies, fellowship events, and outreach strategies tailored to these unique communities.
• Teach, counsel, and disciple young men and women in the context of the local church.

1. Ministry Support

• Train, coordinate, and support volunteers across various ministries.
• Assist the Lead Pastor with ministry coordination, planning, and church operations.
• Manage church media and communications
• Create graphics, slides, and promotional materials for worship services and outreach efforts.
• Rotate into teaching opportunities for men's ministry, equipping hour, and the Lord's Day pulpit, as appropriate.
