Pastoral Intern (Part-time): Loxley Presbyterian Church
Job Description:
Purpose: To provide for leadership/field experience for men pursuing ministry and to support the ministry work at Loxley PCA. Timeline: 12 months, to meet the requirements of PCA BCO 19-7. Role: Part-time, around 10 hrs/week.
- Teach classes in Sunday School and Bible study contexts
- Assist in administrative and organizational tasks
- Participate in member visitation and session meetings
- Engage in personal evangelism in Loxley and surrounding communities, and promote evangelism and evangelism training within the church.
- Gain experience in the areas of administration, community, counseling, evangelism, personal development, preaching and teaching, relationships, visitation, and worship, in line with by the Gulf Coast Presbytery internship guidelines.
Compensation: $6000 stipend; placement with local businesses may be available if an additional job is needed.
Position Qualifications:
Candidate should be in process or have completed a ministry degree (ideally M.Div.) and be considering local church ministry.

Loxley Presbyterian Church is a confessional, means-of-grace PCA church with around 40 members of various ages, located in the small but growing community of Loxley in South Alabama, about 20 minutes from Mobile Bay (4 minutes off I 10). Our church emphasizes expository preaching, God-centered worship, Christian education and discipleship, missions support, and the fellowship of believers. In addition to Sunday school and Sunday morning worship, our church has recently added an evening worship service. Our session seeks to be actively involved in the work of the broader church at the Presbytery and General Assembly level. Several other PCA churches are in the area, offering additional opportunities for building relationships with and learning from other PCA elders and churchmen.
