Bay Area Community Church is looking for high-capacity leaders who feel called to lead the next generation of healthy, missional churches. Whether you are a future Pastor (at a campus or overseeing another ministry), Church Planter, or Global Missionary, our residency is designed to move you from theory to practice.

When you join us, you will become a Pastor/Planter/Missionary (PPM) in residence. You will be immersed in a healthy, contemporary and multiplying culture that values: •The DNA of Multiplication: One word: Jesus. Two words: Make Disciples. One verse: Matthew 28:19. •A "Real-Life" Laboratory: Jesus trained His disciples in the context of relationships and ministry tests. We do the same. You will lead community groups, discipleship groups, and build teams, all while being supported by a community of elders and mentors. •Biblical Depth in the context of today's culture: God's Word never changes but our culture is always changing around us. We seek to bring the unchanging message to our unchurched neighbor next door.
The Journey: A Competency-Based Approach Our residency is a 24-month immersive experience divided into a Core Curriculum and Ministry-Specific Tracks (Church Leadership, Global Missions, or Planter/Campus). We focus on three pillars: 1. Character: The Root of Leadership You will undergo personality and strengths assessments and work through Personal Development Plans focusing on emotional health, marriage and the spiritual disciplines. 2. Knowledge: Theological Rigor Through a structured syllabus, you will master biblical outlines and core doctrines (Christology, Pneumatology, etc.). We strongly encourage your participation/partnership with local and online seminaries for accredited certificate-level education (30 hours) during your residency. 3. Skills: The Art of Ministry You won't just watch; you will lead. From reaching "not-yet" followers of Jesus to multiplying Community Groups and teaching God's Word, you will demonstrate proficiency in the essential tasks of a multiplier before being ordained or commissioned.
The Investment We are taking a "long-term" view of your development. To help you flourish, Bay Area provides: •Financial Support: We will cover your health insurance and assist you as you raise a support base (training provided). •Mentorship: Five hours weekly of direct coaching from the Residency Director and ministry supervisors. •Collaborative Environment: You will serve 45 hours a week (20 in practical ministry, 20 in study, 5 in mentoring) alongside a team of practitioners.
