Responsibilities
Gulf Theological Seminary is inviting applications for our Residency in Global Theological Education for the 2026-27 academic year (and subsequent years). Designed for those interested in exploring the possibility of longer-term work in cross-cultural theological education, a commitment of one or two academic years will allow you to serve in a strategic role and learn through (English-speaking) cross-cultural ministry experience. Residents will serve as part of the GTS team, teaching classes in Bible and theology, and participating in planning, administration, and student care.
Institutional Summary
Gulf Theological Seminary was founded in 2016 to train pastors and church planters for the 10/40 Window. We offer M.Div., M.A., and other programs accredited by the European Council for Theological Education (ECTE). As of 2025, at sites in Dubai and Abu Dhabi we are training more than two hundred students from thirty different countries. We emphasize theological education in and for local churches, and are affiliated with Redeemer Church of Dubai, the Evangelical Church of Abu Dhabi, and selected international mission organizations.

Job Description
Missionary Support
As with the GTS Faculty, this is a missionary role. As such, candidates would need to raise their own support for airfare, housing food, visa, transportation, insurance, and other expenses. For an individual or couple with no children, we may be able to provide a basic housing situation. Support can be facilitated though organizations we currently work with or through a different organization with which you may be connected.
Skills and Competencies
Requirements include:
- A growing believer in Jesus Christ
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Bible or Theology from a Christian college or seminary, with willingness to pursue further study
- Passion for the local church and the church's mission of making disciples of all nations
- Agreement with the GTS Statements of Faith (see pg. 102f of GTS Catalog, above)
- Membership in, and strong recommendation of, faithful local church
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt to ministry in a very diverse multi-cultural setting
- Ability to teach
- Willingness to live in Dubai and join Redeemer Church of Dubai (redeemerdubai.com)
