Bellaire Baptist Church is located in Bossier city LA. The Northwestern part of the state is home to Barksdale Air Force base which is a huge part of our church community. We have lots of military and service oriented people who are members of our church and the surrounding community. We have multiple campuses that consist of Main which is where worship and learning take place. The South campus holds our church offices and Day care as well as a fitness center with outside pickle ball courts. At the moment we have two services Sunday mornings. The earlier service is more classic and lower in attendance. The later service is more contemporary and larger in attendance. Our staff consist of Senior pastor, executive pastor, 2 associate pastors one being our music minister, youth minister, children's minister, and preschool minister. The daycare and fitness center also employs dozens of people each. They both have management teams but our senior pastor plays a vital role in the leadership of both.
We are searching for a Senior pastor with ideas and knowledge on church growth and revitalization. A plan for growth in today's culture or having been in a ministry that has had growth in the last 6 years would be very beneficial.
Qualifications Must strictly meet the qualifications for an elder/overseer outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. 2 years as Senior pastor or 5 years as executive pastor preferable.
Theological Alignment: Uncompromising commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). The candidate must fully align with Southern Baptist polity (church governance), cooperation with the Louisiana Baptist Convention, and strong support for the local Baptist association.
Education: A Master of Divinity (M.Div.) or Doctorate (D.Min. / Ph.D.) from an accredited theological seminary—ideally one of the six Southern Baptist seminaries—is highly preferred.
Multigenerational Shepherding: The candidate must genuinely love and bridge multiple generations—honoring the legacy of the older foundational members while aggressively implementing strategies to reach younger families and the surrounding community.
Managing Large Church Assets: The candidate needs corporate and administrative skills to manage a large facility budget while optimizing resources as the church works to grow. Provide strategic vision and direction.
Staff and Member Development: Ability to assess, lead, and motivate staff and congregation to the work and vision of the church. The pastor must be a leader of leaders, equipping the church to be active in ministry and not passive spectators. With a heavy focus on local evangelism. Participate as a member of the executive team. Supervise and guide all ministry staff. Encourage the deacons, directors and church committees. They are an energetic, patient, and vision-driven leader.
Worship: Expound God's Word through sermons and devotions. Guide corporate worship by communicating sermon outlines and topics to the worship leaders. Lead the church in the celebration of the Lord's Supper and baptism. Emphasize stewardship as an essential part of worship.
In Bible Study/Discipleship: Spend time daily in God's Word and prayer. Challenge the congregation to do the same. Facilitate training in discipleship. Promote membership and involvement in Sunday school.
In Evangelism/Missions Encourage personal and corporate outreach and evangelism along with providing for missions.
